This isnt really a wide body, it just has over sized horrible looking fender flares. A wide body is actually using metal and widening the lines of the car, not just sticking fiberglass on and filling in the gap with foam and bondo.
Lol kool yeah how ur idea with the foam go did the info help at all. Lol thanks hd 2 good stuff good stuff
Well thats where your wrong im definetly not filling gaps with foam an bondo thats not how i do things the fenders and rear quarter panels are coming out about 2 more inches than the original body and the fenders are being completely fabricated out of fiber glass and seporated from the original i dont know where u got ur info from but you couldnt be more wrong on that the wide body portion of this has not quite started yet read the post before making statements like that one an another thing the part about using metal for that purpose that is one way i guess but not the only
And as i said this only test fitting so far not what the finished product will look like
Can't wait to see what you do with this, full kits aren't my thing but I like wide bodys, keep at it =)

Way too wide for me, and not a fan of the over exaggerated fender flares.

I'd be down for like 25mm wide body in the front and 35mm in the back...nothing more though. Gotta be able to fit wheels otherwise it looks ridiculous.

Looking good though, you are very good at customization. I would love to see a clean wide body kit available for people looking for a more aggressive Celica.

edit: I like the blue car above, something like that would be sweet.

If your pulling the METAL on the fenders out 2" then why do you have the god awful flares on there? My "info" comes from the pictures you posted of a stock body celica with fender flares taped on... Or are these flares just a mold for fiberglass?Again in which case its not a real "widebody.

THIS is how a real widebody is built:

Notice the lack of masking tape and fiberglass.
Yeah im using the oe ones to make a mold for the wider fenders with flares but flares still need to be reworked and cut im not happy with the look but a work in pregress is a work in progress
i think it looks mismatched. the sideskirts need to flow.

Maybe in the 1970's! laugh.gif

No seriously it's a good attempt but in this day and age and I think when you've finished, make a mould of it and then make a proper FRP pull as a finsh products. If you have your prototype bonded to the actual panel which fallows the joints it's even better cos it means you can remove parts like an entire wing, make a mould and the pulls will be an entire wide wing which is a bolt off and replace kit. Using rivets and steel strips to make a subframe then sheet metal on top is like building a tank.

Exactly i couldnt hve said it better myself yellow wink.gif so how are your projects coming along bro
isnt that essentially what hes doing? lol in the end when its all painted, he could tell you its made of whatever he wanted and ud have no idea lol.
but yeah all ur infos helped death smile.gif just need to make some more money and finish the 3s money pit tongue.gif then im gonna start with the exterior

Hey nick look wut stumbled acrss a couple days ago at a junk yard i just found my dohner car i picked it up for 380 not to shabby lol

Was in a roll over but most everything is in tact engine wise an rear has almost no damage to it
Yes, because going cheap, light and brittle is much better than making something that will actually last and not rattle when going over 60mph, my mistake. May I just point out for the record this was the same guy that was also going to "custom make" his own front bumper, which I do not see on his car. I also find it interesting that the supra was in a roll over, yet the roof and hatch are 100%, and the front end is completely ****ed( i don't think the strut tower is suppose to be at that angle), did it roll front to back?cwm13.gif And please for the love of GOD go back and learn 2nd grade English. Thank you.

Can you really be that f*ckin stupid really some people just keep talking sh*t no matter what anyone says im tired of this guy that front end was sold in its rough state along with a copy a made since i decided on a gt4 conversion front lip made from scratch rear supra conversion made the same way like i have anything to prove to you uuuhhh no and for your info i was told it was in a roll over by the junk yard owner since i obviously hve to be specific for u could care less either way. you dont like this post then why talk down to people am i wrong in saying this lol im done move the f*ck on seriously you dont know what your talking about and its obvious. Get f*** leave that one to your imagination. THANK YOU

All you said was that I'm wrong, yet, every single thing I said your agreed with. And from what i can understand from your post you bought a supra with no rear end for a supra rear conversion? Again, please proof read your posts so that people don't have to reread them three times to figure out what the f*ck your trying to say. Please take some time out of your really busy day moding wicked sweet body parts and read this: How to use Punctuation Correctly.

Yeah when typing from a small touch screen punctuation is the least of my concerns. Srry about that one people. Supra kid i never said i bought the supra for a rear end conversion. I did a custom supra rear end a while back which i still need to finish due to a hit an run. Same with the z type lip thats on it which was hand made as well and i apologize for going off on you last night it was bad timming when u posted an i was in a bad mood. Well that being said later people ill be posting more as i progress.
No problem, I look forward to seeing a documented widebody celica. Good luck.
