The sheer amount of vac lines on the 1MZ is it's only drawback. I'm thinking about buying another 1MZ and working on running the lines so that they can be tucked away.

Atleast the toyota/lexus plate covers the a,good chunk of the hoses
but yea if it was tucked away would be nice
If i had thr knowhow i think itbs would look sweet too but that would be stupid hard to do

Ok now for a quick run down of the vacuum tank

Heres the tank mounted in the same spot as the old charcoal can

Heres where the lines run to an connect to the hoses from the intake an vsv

Heres the other end of the connection

Heres wher the bottom hose connects to the intake

The small vacuum hose here thats connected to the hard line is the top hose on the vac tank connection.

i guess the question you should ask yourself is what condition of the water do you want to measure?
on the water neck or just after it (as in Teed into the hose) on the out, =temp of the water exiting the block.. engine water temp (for this would be best to try to get it pre-t-stat)
Or to measure the water temp going into the motor.. bottom of the rad (i think, unless i got my flow direction backwards) or on the hose.. this will also let you see how efficient the rad is working.
i have an ST so the temp sensor is already mounted on the neck, but i got a GT/GT4 Ebay rad (godspeed) and it had an open port for the GT OEM temp sensor (or it may be for a fan switch,, either way it was an extra port on the bottom of the rad).. so i just used that to put my HF water temp Gauge.. that way i can see how well the rad is working...

The stock one reads funny
It jumps straight to half then goes up from there
Only gauge that seems to read right is the fuel gauge

I was thinking in the top rad. Hose would be best

Did you check with MR220V on the gauge wiring and what he thinks you should do?
Are you sure there isn't air in the system?

agreed..if the gauge is jumping to 1/2 it sounds like its getting a signal its not supposed to. i would double check something in the wiring. Oh im getting more and more nervous about this wiring.

Well if everything goes right ill be getting the exhaust done
Then ill be ordering. A godspeed radiator with slim fans.
The coupes rad is looking rough so i figure theres no point to buy another stock one
An im debating on what kind of rotors to get too
Thinking i might just get some basic rotors an maybe ebc pads
Might get the drilled an slotted rotors off ebay
Not 100% sure yet
Ill have about 400 to work with after the exhaust

As far as i can tell it seems to warm up ok an isnt overheating
just the gauge is off. I dought changing the rad is gonna fix that but im gonna swap out the rad i just put in for the go speed one. Once i order it
The main reason for that is i noticed i have a wat appears to crack forming in the old radiator in the coupe

Ok mr220v. Just e mailed me an said most of the gauges are ran through one plug from the sensors to the dash from my understanding is he thinks i might have not plugged it in or it might not be plugged in all the way

If that was the case, I would think other sensors would be having trouble as well. Seems very possible since it seems like I remember reading in another thread about CEL woes. I can't wait to hear your first impressions after the exhaust is finished and the car is back on the streets.
I do still have that bumper for you, by the way.

Sweet thanks richees 3 when my loan check shows up ill send you the money
you wouldnt happen to have any of the low beam rubbers layin around would you?
Ive been talking to mr220v. He has said dong my harness was alittle diffrent than the rest
I guess its almost the same as a normal obd1 harness but had a few things from at obd2 harness in it
Kind of like toyota took a 94 1mz harness an put part of the 97 1mz harness in it
im starting to think ill never know what my codes are but i dont blame mr220v for that
Thats the risks you run on a swap like this

Well the cash ive been waiting for showed up today
So far ive bought a battery box a new smaller overflow tank. Hood pins
And....... new subs for the coupe but ill go more into those in the coupes thread
Im about to order the god speed rad a short throw shifter an maybe new rear end links for the coupe
depending on how much the exhaust cost me i might get drop springs too before the Midwest meet

Starting to hate ebay, paypal,an my debt card
Cant order anything because ebay says i cant make my payment
Paypal says its something to do with my card
An the number on my card just gets me a recording sayin all lines are busy
so i guess im not ordering parts tonight

I'm looking into NAPA for drilled and slotted rotors. Apparently they sell "lifetime warrenty" ones (which around these parts means, every time you wear them down, bring them in for new ones) for our cars. I saw them on JDCelica's new red hatch and learned about them. Do you have a NAPA near you?

2000 GTS calipers and rotors (front) also fit celi's.. one note though.. you will HAVE to cut down the GTS mounting bolts they are a bit longer.. but any-hoo a bit more options out there for ya.
"The buy my stuff, for help make great finish project of celica fund!"
Good to know
I was thinking about gt4 calipers
But the whole reason i even did this swap was so i knew i could walk into an auto parts stote or junk yard an find the parts i need
An gt4 brakes would ruin that
This car will be broof( hopefully) that usdm celicas dont suck they were just put together with the wrong parts

Well finally got my parts ordered
so its showing the radiator shifter an the swaybar endlinks should all be here by the 4th
Then im going to redo my pass side motor mount an go monday an find out how soon the exhaust can be done
Then it should be just about ready to drive i hope
Mr220v thinks i need a different ecu to read my codes so hes tracking me down what i need
Goung to do as much as i can this weekend
Anyone by change know where to hook in a oil pressure gauge at on the 1mz?

Glad you got all of your parts on the way. Hopefully Mr220v can get you hooked up with an ecu that'll work. Found this about adding an oil pressure gauge. Kind of vague, but should give some leads on what to do:

Think im gonna t it ofc like my 5s
I just have to make sure the gauge is t'd at the right spot

I might be in Columbus Monday. Not sure what time though. I might be going to a concert that starts at 8 so I'd probably be there around 5 or so. If you want, I could load up that bumper and we could meet up somewhere.
