54 trim...hmmm...never heard of it. I have heard very good things about innovative turbos.

I believe that the injectors will be maxed out at about 380-390hp at the flywheel. At the wheels, you are looking at more like 340-350 max. Take into consideration a 10% safety factor for injector duty cycle, you are looking at 320whp. You may want to consider larger injectors. Don't believe that crap about not being able to get 720's or 850's to idle properly with an EMS. Although, I don't know much about the SDS unit.

if i break into the 350whp+ range i'll be happy for a little while >tongue.gif>

yea your 3sgte is cool but ill stick to my 7agte
Good luck...keep the size of the injectors in mind as you tune.

thanks i will the shop is going to bring along a set of 65 lb ones just in case i want to switch out but i want to see what the 55 can do

i want to keep atleast 25 mpg on the highway

How laggy do you think that turbo will be? In particular, at what RPM do you predict you will cross 200 ft / lbs?

my new red line is 8500 rpm so the 200 ft/lbs probably around 3800-4800 im guessing i'm really not sure because i havent seen many 7agte dyno charts most of the power should be above 4300-4500rpm i going to install a rev limit to a switch to rev limit at 4500 or so when i'm driving around town to save on gas and not run through the gears real fast which i know will happen once the turbo kicks in

Rev limit switch? Why not just shift earlier? There is alot of modulation you can do with your right foot to prevent going through the gears too fast or getting into positive manifold pressure - especially with your set-up. Shoot, I can prevent the ct-26 from boosting while driving almost normally if I want.

As for your prediction regarding spool, I think you might be a little low.

By way of comparison, a 50 trim T3/T4 on a stock 3sgte head hits 200 ft/lbs at about 4500. Three factors suggest the spool of your set-up will be later: (1) .2 liters of less displacement; (2) HUGE cams; and (3) larger turbo. I will predict 200 ft/lbs at 5100. Properly tuned, this thing should hit like a truck and be wicked once boost kicks in.

on my old 7afte i did shift early to stay out of boost it help on the gas mileage. Once i get my car back i'll have to relearn how to drive again shouldnt take to long maybe a hour or so

as for the spooling your prediction sound pretty close to what it should be this be interesting to see how it turns out on the dyno with all the things that have been done to it and the chose of using the small port intake manifold over the large port to get some better low and mid range power the cams will be the hardest to dail in right looks like atleast a few hours of dyno time and many pulls to get it all right.but once i get it i be posting the charts up here asap

I think that's probly the nicest built engine i've ever seen in a celica..... including 3s-gte's ... even air-to-water intercooled RC motors...... they dont have anything on that 7a-gte. Im in awe. Truly impressive ... i give it two thumbs way up ... and madd props biggrin.gif

Man you gotta be kidding nik. I think your exterior is a 8 out of 10, and your motor would be about a 12.7 out of 10 for me. Props for all the work and I can't wait for MORE updates and future plans.

things i want to do to get close to a 10/10 car

exterior= still needs a cf hatch and a few other tasteful cf parts new paint want so volks gtc 18x8 with toyo tires a few things molded
some lambo doors maybe way down the road full CF doors and lighten the car more

interior= totally redone full chromoly cage gauges seats recarpet cf encloser system in back

suspension= cusco pillow mounts ss tein coilovers with edfc controler sway bars front and back tower bars front and back body brace engine cage/braces

than and few rare items wink.gif

looks good nik, one thing though, why did they decide to mount the coil pack to the tranny?
