my problems:

my roof paint is oxidizing(planning on repainting soon)
rear bumper was repainted poorly by previous owner(replacing and repainting soon)
repainted my side mirrors(friend did a perfect color match)
driver seat has minor wear (not ripped yet)
friend girls dono there purses are big and ends up making minor dings and scratches on side >:|
engine bay dirty =]
power antenna (glad its broken)
when i go to my friends house squirrels throw nuts at my car now there are small nut dings =[(seriously)

otherwise car itself is perfect.

Has two big dents in the passenger fender and two smaller ones on my side.
It idles rough.

I also feel like I'm using more gas than I should, 25 MPG doesn't seem all that great.

Well whats wrong... i got my first minor gutter rash on one of my rear rims. Im so cut up about it, and not sure if i should repair it
Also both my rear quater panels have a dent in em, and passanger side has part of the rear quater panel scrapped. Its not that noticeable but yeh. All that was done by previous owner. Dont know if id be fixing it up but yeh really cut up about my rim.....

Shup your car is nearly perfect, should see all the dents on mine haha.

I have a rattle somewhere when reving, sounds like exhaust rattle, steering rack boot is torn, bad shocks, bumper is slightly cracked cause I hit a kangaroo, interior side bits have sun damage.

1. Bumper scuffed pretty bad
2. Chip in pass. high beam
3. Pass. fender beat to hell by previous owner FIXED
4. pass door has ugly burnt in tape residue
5. pass window was broken by previous owner and cheap aftermarket window doesn't seal right
6. GF spilled 44oz Dr Pepper on pass seat and floorboard
7. no underplastics at all
8. rear 1/4panel has dent from some stupid f150 hit&run FIXED
9. over all dented and dinged from previous owner && hail storm
10. strange cooolant leak yet to be found FIXED
11. CEL code 71: FIXED by a paperclip on the EGR temp sensor
12. throw out bearing clicks while idling, sometime
13. all 4 rims are a little scuffed
14. horribly balanced tires
15. extremely bald front tires (i love corners tongue.gif )
16. rear suspension pretty much gone, looks 2 inches lowered
17. creeking noise while turning steering wheel
18. bumpier ride than normal
19. squeeks and rattles over bupms
20. horribly stained carpet from prev. pwner
21. slightly weathered steering wheel
22. front fabric in bad condition
23. drivers side hatch plastic interior piece missing
24. rear bumper scufffed bad
25. AC smells like... old AC sometimes FIXED
26. previous owner left some disgusting stuff under the spare tire for quite some time, therefore rusting two timy holes through the floorplane
27. engine sits a little los on passenger side
28. 2nd grinds when shifting fast
29. dome light work when it feels like it FIXED
30. injector wires short out sometimes causeing occasional misfire FIXED
31. Dist. gets wet easily causing misfire
32. no antena. lol FIXED shaved antenna y0



but its still getting me wherever i need to go, and looks pretty good still

• dent in my C pillar from a limb

• flaking paint on front lip
• various chips in the paint
• rust on the doors
• rust stains on my ground effects from my rusty doors
• a high pressure in the top of my windshield seal (found it going through the automatic car wash)

Interior

• cracked leather on the center armrest
• broken courtesy cover(took it out)
• stained carpet
• cigarette burn in the back seat (previous owner)
• RATTLES

Mechanical

• some sort of very slow leak coming from somewhere (none of my fluids get low)
• some heat shield is broken loose on my exhaust and rattles

overall, nothing really bad, just a bunch of little things that drive me crazy

So I've had my car for about 2 months now..the man who sold it to me (used car dealer) told me that it's a "real pussy getter." I, however, think this device is broken or just needs replacement. Does anyone know where i can get one? Thank You

No but really haha my real list so far:
1. leaking oil (recently replace valve cover gasket so it's good now)
2. Rear struts
3. cracked windshield
4. Torn intake
5. rust surrounding the rear windshield and bottom of driver door
6. dents and deep scratches from previous owner

Hopefully that will be all..its truly a beautiful car though

Left window motor is slow
Can't heel-toe. Gas pedal and brake are different heights.
Window's need to be retinted
Car needs to be claybared
Current wheels are ugly and dirty
Bit of a tear on the drivers seat
Leaking Oil. Need to replace valve cover gasket


That's it. All fixable, and all on the to-do list thankfully.

Valve cover gasket is easy to fix if you have tools shouldn't take you more than 15 min.

Worst part about my car right now is waiting for parts that I ordered.......1 of 6 things that have received.

problems from the outside in.

1. paint on the roof is fading.
2. front/rear bumper paint doesn't match the rest of the car's color too well.
3. a bird scratched my car.
3. when engaging the clutch it makes this whining noise. (when foots off its quiet)
4. i have a 7afe.

Well, Right now my 6th gen has 19x,000 miles on it.

-The paint job the previous owner did was HORRIBLE. They taped around the license plat, didnt use primer, didnt paint the engine bay or door jambs.
-It needs a transmission put in.
-It has some minor dents on the passenger rear quarter.
-The drivers side seat has a tear on the bolster.

Other than that, it runs GREAT, looks pretty good, and other than the tear, the interior is VERY nice.

We are going to be replacing the transmission soon, and doing a good paint job on her. Most likely gonna be painting it metallic black.

wow I remember starting this thread like 4 years ago lol. Well here's an update now that I have the 99:

1. Vehicle mis-aligned, causing the tires to wear very unevenly
2. CD player dying
3. Front emblem missing, front bumper paint flaking a little, fender paint chipping
4. Rear hatch rattles, just needs the latch adjusted
5. Front strut mounts starting to go
6. Losing about a quart of oil a month, no idea where it's going
7. Not enough mods!

The car is actually in really good shape for a 99. I'm the 2nd owner, and the 1st owner had every little bit of maintenance performed and documented at the local Toyota dealership. Providing I don't buy another motorcycle the car will get a suspension makeover this summer. Otherwise I'll just be replacing parts with performance parts as they wear out, and do a lot of motor work when it eventually needs rebuilt.

The only things the matter with my car is my friends all think it's a freakin Taxi.
It's to expensive to take with me if I move to the states.
There's two small chips in the windscreen.
The passenger door padding falls down everytime I leave the car locked up on a hot day, no matter how much upholstery spray glue I use

Apart from that it's all good.

time to get this thread going again.

It's not boosted.

1. CEL
2. ABS light, neeeds both front sensors
3. Rear strut mounts
4. Rear struts are starting to go.
5. 5 or so little dents that drive me nuts
6. Paint chips on hood.
7. Needs IAC valve cleaned
8. Needs an allignment bad.
9. Needs some JDM tails and TRD splitters and skirts but have no money.
10. Riser blocks are off getting painted

On my '94 Gt-S with 142 000km on the clock

1- Front fender misses paint and is a lil bumped. Front bumper is scrached on right side.. (Getting these two painted and fixed in the next 3 weeks)
2- Shifting is meh when cold, but it's not that bad
3- Some SMALL rust down my doors. (Maybe I will get this fixed with the bumper/fender too)
4- Low beams' seals are in good shape but they don't hold to the lights anymore (Need glue or what?)
5- Dent on my right side rocker that is barely visible because of it's height. (It's almost under the body lol)
6- Summer tires need to be changed
7- Burns very little oil. (Used to burn more a couple of weeks/months ago, don't know why, it kinda stopped. Probably Head gasket or valve seals)
8- Leather seats are worn a little. (Still in very good shape for a 16 years old car)
9- Trunk trims are scratched
10- Needs an allignment
11- Paint in general is pretty clean. Some lil swirls, but nothing big.
12- Wheel bearing (I guess, haven't checked it out yet) makes an annoying sound from time to time.
13- Lost my freon so no more A/C for the moment

..Nothing major. It is very clean, but not perfect ^.^

ha ha ha, it has one good brake, the front driver side... the rear pads need to be replaced and the passenger side caliper has one of its pistons seized.
