I agree with recycle that as some of us are taking a week off work then maybe 1 or 2 of our italian counterparts could do the same and become our tour guides?

That is really not a problem !!!

WE even have some members in Rome...
you could park the cars at my home in Parma's province, I get you to the train, and in 3,5 hours you could be there !

I love it when a plan comes together!!

BTW car looks sweet!!

OK then, so we know that its going to be italy as our destination.
So between us can we come up with a list of things that will need to be done by people coming from different countries? As I (And possibly others) have never driven to a different country before so some help would be appreciated.

Add to the list if you think of anything.

1. Car insurance will need changing to incorporate driving abroad.
2.

1. Car insurance will need changing to incorporate driving abroad. (ask your insurance about this.. most EU insurances cover u 3rd party in whole EU + switcherland + romania + bulgraria)
2. use http://local.live.com/ its a good way to find direction to imola
3. its better to go to imola convoys and not everyone alone... for example french (and spanish) owners can join the english... german can join the swedish and so on... so its better for any one interested joining this meet to tell us in advance to manage these convoys. (i think is better like this... more people mean better prices at hotels and ships where needed and there is more safe when travelling more people together in a foreign country))
yeah I agree with the convoys and meeting up with people from different countries.

Plus it means more people to get lost at once haha

seriously though it makes it better if theres a breakdown and stuff like that too.

I think its gonna be a really good laugh this trip.
damn this would be a really cool meet, i'm very interested but i dunno if i got the money though
been talking to my best friend about taking a roadtrip to monaco earlier but now this may be another choice

another problem it that i'll prolly end up in russia or something, i got a habit of ending up where i planned, although by taking a 400% longer "shortcut"
you better set off a few weeks before us lot then mate.

Recycle...

if you, guys, want me to organize the meeting, it's better to make it in PARMA, where I live, NOT Imola:

I know everything of the place I live, roads, hotels, restaurant, things to see in city ecc... when I know nothing about Imola !

Ok ?

And if you do end up in Russia then you can join our convoy 'couse I'm definetly comming to this meet and I'm more then sure that out gt-four club will come and some other neat cars will join biggrin.gif

I think this would be a trip everyone would remember for a long time biggrin.gif

as i can see imola and parma are only 1 hour driving. the actual meet will be in imola... i think is better to be in a famous track, and we can spend the nights before and after at parma or where ever we choose to make this trip/meeting/hollydays perfect smile.gif after all this is the plan

OMG... My friend... You saw the prices? It's about 130€ per night for two people! Call me skinflint or Mr.Choosy but I would prefer this sort of accommodations biggrin.gif (40€ for 2 people/night in Bologna that's my taste of price laugh.gif )

I have to agree with malpaso on this one.

If we're spending a ton on petrol to get there then as long as cars are safe then I don't care how cheap the accomodation is.

I would bring my tent and camp in someones back garden haha
i looked for hotels cos at hotels there is more safety with cars.. bologna is pretty close to imola... so is parma (wolfs city) so we have to find the perfect hotel (or back garden) for the ideal safety/price goal. i bet we can find many hotels even cheaper than the E40/night for 2 people but with no parking in the middle of empty roads with no trafic and no safety.. and to be honest i dont want to travel all these miles to come back on plane with no car... car safety come first... even little more expensive:P

of cource an other way is some of us act as car-guards at night tongue.gif army style. malpaso u are till 1 i will take 1 to 3 tongue.gif
come on italy guys, find us a really super safe hotel, that has a hot tub in every room and naked pole dancers as entertainment in the reception while you wait to be checked in all for about 25 euros and I'll be happy. haha.

Yea... agree... my point is not spend much money for hotel (better for fuel and riding biggrin.gif) however not as cheap as possible regardless where my car will be all the night...

if u come from a country that barely anyone locks their cars and car alarms are something never seen in aftermarket sales leaving the car on an empty road in foreign land makes u little bit scare

1. If you want to me to organize such a big and difficulty meeting, i have to make it in the places i know! Then not in imola!

2. I imagine you don't know that imola it's NOT a permanent track in which you can drive with your cars! It's open only some day when there are some events.

Wolf_tm, we do appreciate you honestly mate. Surely its not something that you have to organise on your own, are there no other 6gc member in italy?

and I also thought imola was a permanant race track. Didn't realise it was a road/track.
mates, here we talk about ideas.... Imola was an idea but (unfortunately) not a good one cos we cannot get inside... the only sure think is that is going to be in north italy... cos is centre of europe smile.gif

Wolf u are from Parma... what u think we should do in that meeting? where to meet and where to go?
