they aren't exposed tongue.gif i made a plexi glass window to fill the hole and its siliconed/some crazy glued in. we can shoot the timing light easy on the cam gears on the dyno or w/e iunno i was bored. biggrin.gif

as for headwork, its basiclly ATS Eagle springs, with hks 264 exhaust, 272 intake cams.
if my stock shims are fine for lash after i install the shims and buckets ill keep em. but if they need to be reshimmed ill think about going shimless, it would be nice but well see if i have the cash :x lol i still need to get this thing tuned later tongue.gif

Sweet work. Are you leaving the pulleys exposed, I don't think I could run one like
that un supervised. Road debris spells danger. kindasad.gif

Where can I get the #s for hole locations, outside radius, ect..
I really want to make one of these only prettier. biggrin.gif

haha, i can probly help you out. tongue.gif i was alos actually thinking of sending these out to a machine shop and having them mass produced but a little modified. and i could sell them to a company like ats or just sell them independently on ebay, im a dreamer lol. but alot of mr2 guys would like this, they lover the stockers and they do like top mounts lol.

slim spal fans or place the fans in the front of the radiator instead of behind
(go push instead of pull)

true. i hope they clear the oil cooler behind the intercooler.

Visit My Automotive & Tech Blog.
well the radiator i have now is pretty large its not stock. all aluminum and 30% larger than stock. also to keep heat low i think im gunna buy a turbo insulating jacket.

i just ordered a tial 38mm, when it gets here i take off the turbo elbow adapter i made, drill a hole in it, weld on the flange and bolt the wastegate on. soon though. thats my next project, getting the exhaust paths all setup with the WG.

woo woo. got the valve springs in and cams. the toyotool is amazing and i recommend it to anyone. everything is assembled with arp moly lube to break the cams in properly.
ill get them degreed maybe tomorrow.

woot, i wanted to buy a cheap ebay knock off but figured its way to much of a essential part to skimp on.
this weekend ill be making the downpipe and wastegate setup hopefully.

what spring you got????? and tell me why i was thinking the same i was like.....hm the ebay one is soooo much cheaper but then i was like..........naw cant cheap out now because i havent so far and wastegate is essential at peak performance so i got the 10 lbs spring 38mm tial

word. i got the 1 bar: 14.5psi

Visit My Automotive & Tech Blog.
i went and bought the stock to make the WG work, picking up the DP stock tomorrow hopefully, will be degreeing the cams tomorrow also. depends on what else is going on, holidays... Bah tongue.gif oh i also cleaned the bay out. im gunna go honda style and wire tuck everything and try to remove any pointless brackets or w/e from the bay. the ac system is all out now. gunna be respraying everything black Mmmm.

well, beeing working on the Wastegate and exhaust setup, got it mocked with rusty old pipe from my dads old exhaust lol. now i need to purchase some nice piping to make the final fit.

Polished up the RMR, holset comp side, and apexi bov with some jewelers polish i picked up at a world of wheels car show. they look pretty shinny now smile.gif

Started pinning the wiring harness and painted the hard plastic covers on the wires.

This week should be pretty productive im hoping. time is catching up with me now :x

got the fuel line all set. but as a whole im still far from done id like to say i was closer but you forget about all the small things when i generalize and say its close lol.
like re wiring the harness and re-pinning it. or setting up vacuum lines, water lines attaching crap to the firewall. slower but surely, something about a turtle winning a race.

V-band clamp will be in Tuesday. that dump tube will recirculate its really long right now, ill cut it down when the down pipe is finished so everything lines up perfect.

haha nice pun tongue.gif ive been on a little break i think, well mostly just cleaning.
polished the intake manifold, took off the turbo compressor housing and sanded it till it was smooth no more orange peal texture just nice Bling polished aluminum. polished my old apexi twin chamber bov, yeah lotta polishing lol. my dad just picked up an industrial parts cleaning bin type tool, so i plan on soaking the the tranny, cross member, axels, ect and repaint em all. I need more motivation, I miss going fast.

sure thing ill post pics when i get home. i was suckered into buying some metal polish at a car show, this guy polished the dome on the underside of a soda can and it looked like a mirror so needless to say i was amazed and ended up buying some. so i went on a polishing excursion lol. it came with a sealer polish also that when he put water on the dome it didn't want to stick at all, says the sealer um... seals it for up to a year and thats against most chemicals, water even anti freeze. but we'll see if it can take the temps of the engine bay. well see what happens.

from that to this, pretty good i say. lotta work i gave up getting in the small crevasses but the silicon coupler that holds the filter on will cover that anyways tongue.gif

wow a flash really brings out the residue sealer wax that needs to be taken off.

Visit My Automotive & Tech Blog.
yeah ill post pics of the downpipe we've been working on.
just waiting on more vband clamps tongue.gif

Visit My Automotive & Tech Blog.
What ive been up to
IPB Image
IPB Image
IPB Image
IPB Image
downpipe is almost complete still waiting on the top and bottom vband flanges to welt to it.
thats why it was ghetto held up in the pics.
added some ebay bolt kit for the valve cover and other stuff.
got a 4" silicone coupler for the filter
painted the engine bay and started to tuck things like the air bag controller box and random brackets or w/e
not going crazy with it just trying to clean it up some.
oh and that bracket going to the turbo from the head will have another bracket along side it going to the ring along the exhaust side coming from the other ear on the head.
so it will be kinda symmetrical lol

nice work john!
good idea for the turbo stay, like dan said. i like it!
is the DP stainless? or are you planning on having it coated or somthing?

yeah i saw a similar bracket on mr2oc. I wanna support that thing any way i can.
we are also bracket that goes from the block to the underside of the turbo.
oh and the DP is stainless along with the v-band hardware, ceramic coated would be nice biggrin.gif know any one local?

You're going to run and EMS and keep the dist?
Out of curiosity, why?

i havent really looked into what i would need to run coil over plug setup.
i realize the stock ignition isnt the best setup, but im hoping it will perform satisfactory.
if not id have no choice it seems.

AEM ems. and i plan on 18 ish psi daily and 21 22 ish if it likes it at higher boost levels. yeah im hoping the hx35 will prove to be a good alternative to
higher priced larger turbos. thanks for your comments smile.gif
