when you made your turbo adapter bracket, where did you get the flange for the manifold side?

I cut it off my old SSAC tubular manifold.

well those of you who wanted a video. i didn't take this one. Manny did. i just found it on youtube when i searched for holset lol. thanks Manny! i forgot all about this lol.

i get the torque steer in higher gears. i think that was just a little of 1st and 2nd lol. 3rd - 5th is were its ges fun because the turbo has more load on it to spool faster. like doing 60mph punch it and it to pass someone on the highway and it wants to pull you into them lol.

once you get it tuned... i think it will get more responsive and pull even harder.

i know what you mean about it wanting to pull you to the next lane. had that happen before..lol.

word, and bump the boost up to were the turbo really shines.
haha Dan thanks buddy rolleyes.gif

Two step is just a lowered rev limiter. but I have it cutting ignition like 400 rpm sooner than its cuts the fuel. so at 4200 rpm it basically misfires because of lack of spark all that fuel is dumped into a very hot manifold and ignites then spools the turbo. Sorta like anti lag but it doesn't retard timing.

I have it so its active only under 15mph for launching at the track or just for fun smile.gif

asap, but before the dyno i need to put my new muffler in place of one of my resonators. the exhaust it just to loud and screams pull me over. so i dont wanna drive the car to Boston with an exhaust like that. this weekend i should get the exhaust done. and any time after that im down for dyno-ing.

unfortunately my friend who was gunna help tune the car, crashed his bike and broke all the bones in his right leg, collar bone, and i think a few ribs.
I was also going to use his lift to do my exhaust but i guess ill just have to use 4 jack stands again to do the exhaust frown.gif

they don't call it the heart breaker dyno for no reason tongue.gif

It's tuned really well now. we stayed at 1 bar though, we think its best to keep it there for now until pistons. then he said just raising the boost 5lbs will bring the turbo into its prime and would easily make 400whp on his dyno. never mind a mustang dyno.
hopefully the 14th we can get to number bragging dyno biggrin.gif

he thinks i might have alittle to much excessive blow by to risk raising the boost.
Im not sure though, no oil vapor is in the blow by, there just alot of crank case pressure. nothing a vacuum pump cant bandage for now though.
so now i might have to add a few piston and rod install pics into the mix.
now its tuned for everything, not just WOT.

yeah its a bit laggy. but the best remedy to that is to down shift biggrin.gif
its alot like a high power band 2 stroke lol.

a video running might be harder than it should be.....
im pretttttty sure i cracked a ringland. still ne compression check it. but yeah.
stock pistons dont like big turbos. forgies going in asap. sucks...

1 bar. i think the problem was that when i got the engine it had a blown HG.
and things werent fit for the power goals i had in mind for stock 91, worn pistons/rings. on the dyno the tuner said i had alittle to much blow by. so we decided to be safer than sorry and keep the boost at 1 bar. he thinks i cracked or slightly cracked a ringland because of the blow by.
i did some research over at mr2oc and they say its a pretty common thing to happen to stock pistons. so i could have had a hair line crack and having the tuner gain alot more power might have been pushing it to the limit.

going eagle rods and Arias or Wiseco pistons. sucks. but i should be able to get it going again fairly quick.

:moral of the story is: Just because some else's motor didnt blow up with stock pistons doesnt mean yours wont blow up lol.
and just to bite the bullet and do it anyways. oh well. im trying to put a positive spin on it. more power when im done smile.gif

Yup, out of the bay again. eyes closed.
check out whats going in this time smile.gif

MCS Forged Shortblock:

3S block, torque plate bored, honed, deglazed, vatted, cleaned, painted, assembled
3S crank, balanced with rotating assembly, micropolished
King Engine Bearings & Thrust Washers
CP 86.5MM forged pistons, 9.0:1 compression, .020 over bore
Eagle H-Beam Rods
Blueprinted bottom end
New rear seal retainer & seal

just need to strip the block down and mail it out. id do it myself but by the time i get the block bored and honed and buy all the parts i need, im only like 100 bucks below a fully built & balanced, blueprinted block.
it will be nice to get it in the mail and just bolt it all back together. high boost. Mmmmm.

:this thread is long, should i stop bumping it? anyone?:

see the wear lines in the cylinder towards the back, i can feel them with my finger nail.
alot rougher than the rest of the cylinder wall. guess ill find out more. when the crank and all that comes out.

Very nice man smile.gif, got any more pics wink.gif
now your ready for some big power!
how much do they charge for a rebuild like that?

15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
Somewhat off topic but how easy is that plenum to install? Does it fit just dandy under the bonnet etc or does it need fiddling with?

Yeah! cant wait to get it running, and keep it running biggrin.gif
Over at MCS they have alot of good prices for what your getting. I payed almost 2400 dollars, but to know its done right by a 3sgte specialty shop is worth it.
I think its a really good deal, just finding a machine shop around me that would have bored the cylinders would have cost me like 400 doll hairs. ill take a pic of the underside of the block when i get in. Inside is so clean, the crank looks great, you can see where they rebalanced everything. Im very happy with it.

the manifold bolts directly to the head, so it eleminates the tvis valves and it bolts right up. There was no fiddling involed, fits great under the hood.
