figured more of the aem out. damn its crazy. now im off to go put a timing light on it and sync it up with the aem's timing so hopefully that will clean up the idle a bit more.

i'm going to nit pick...but John i think you should have ran the cold pipe through your fender and out from under the fuse box....

otherwise...VERY NICE

Yeah that would probably be the optimum route. maybe next time : i still have a lot left over pipe & couplers... Hmmm. smile.gif Appreciate all the input. im just glad to have it running.

iunno why the 2.5" IC piping, but ok
if you run race gas for a pull
i think you will hit >500 @~24psi, granted the pistons/rods are a-ok

i'm guessing that turbo is like the GT35.
and since all the evos and stis seem to be ~500 w/ their gt35's, figure u'll be there too...of course unless those others are stroked, which i doubt the scoobies were, but i could see the dsm doin is easily.

as for my guess.
415 @18psi tongue.gif
(assuming you tune for 18psi w/ pump)

Go Cams!!!

I did the 2.5" from the turbo to the intercooler. I kept the pipe coming out if the turbo the same diameter as the turbo outlet so id have less pressure drop, at least thats the plan. the i did 3" from the outlet to the TB, kept the piping the same size as the TB inlet so theres less turbulence. again at least thats the plan biggrin.gif
oh, and for the race gas thing that would be pretty intense lol.
yeah i want to do 18-20 psi on pump if allowed.

this looks like a fun game smile.gif

I'm guessing about 340-360ish on the first few runs, then once tuned...390-410ish.

John, I think we're gonna start taking bets as to what's going to go snap, boom, or pop first wink.gif and when tongue.gif

what's your ETA on getting this on the road ? week or so ? I gotta get up and see this thumbsup.gif i'm diggin it

I plan to have it tuned this weekend. going to a dyno in Boston.
If anyone wants to come, let me know.

Haha i think the only thing that could possibly happen to the car is that ill never be able to legally get it inspected. gotta work on that.

Are you running a GT trans with your 3s swap?

Like everyone else, I've been following this thread and would love to see it work without a hitch but with all that extra power..I'm somewhat skeptical of you ever being able to top this motor out, that is putting all that power on the 2 front wheels. Let alone what the handling will be like.I wish you the best tho and I'll be waiting for the results.

As for my guess...355hp..341lbft tq.

Well i'm hoping it it wont be too bad. on slicks i should hook right up. i hope.
i really have no idea what to expect. accept i keep on envisioning me having my foot in it for a good couple seconds before i start to boost lol. I'll be sure to let you guys know how it is. biggrin.gif

oh, yeah its an S54 tranny, for this year atleast.
I heard its a pretty durable tranny from a couple mr2 guys. well see.

Two-step is awesome.
boosting sounds like a jet engine.
didnt get to go to dyno because my cars no registered so i borrowed my grandfathers dealer plates and we road tuned it for a couple hours.
its incredible at only 14 psi. it hits full boost around between 4.5k and 5k, the power is great. Both my efi certified tuner friend and i were shocked at how responsive the turbo is. its no ct26 but we expected worse. traction is going to be a problem, i'm forced to go buy new wider wheels and tires. but we mad a nice map for driving around in very safe full boost conditions. its not optimal for power, but great for knowing nothing is on the edge of breaking. were gunna try to get it to a dyno to really tune it asap once the registry is open.

My alternator belt and pulley hasn't come in yet. hopefully later today it will.
today I'm buying heat wrap for oil lines and what not.
trying to tune the cold start map because it runs super rich until it warms up.
Sorry for making you guys wait biggrin.gif
I'm not doing it for dramatic effect I'm just a slow at getting things done.

Theres a quick video of the two step and idle. i didn't hold it to long because my mom just pulled in behind me, and i didn't want here to thing someone was shooting at her biggrin.gif
I took my dad for a ride and hes like yeah this thing will eat my car. well see wink.gif

sometime this week i should have it fully tuned.
just got back from my first meal legally drinking woo woo.
thanks for the nice comments. im glad everything worked out fairly well and no major problems arouse.

Visit My Automotive & Tech Blog.
ill be sure to take plenty of video at the dyno and a few on the way home wink.gif
i hope my ac belt and pulley is at home waiting for me.

Im sorry to inform you guys... but ill be the poster child of to much power on dinky axles. Yep just popped my drivers axle... so much for tuning this week. it was bound to happen. now what lol. who makes strong 5sfte axles. maybe these were just old since i did beat them up with both 5sfte setups and the 3sgte. damn.....

i have some vids. you can hear the clunking and me saying to a buddy "i hope thats my axel" and it is.

Hmm i didn't realize axles were that cheap i can get new ones for under $100 bucks. not bad.
i guess i'll go pick some "life time warranty" ones from auto zone.
ill just be accustom to breaking them every week.

tehehehe, well, we know your for sure making good power!!
damn john, we're gonna havta find ya some 3sge axles like jeff has, see if those will hold up..
if not, it may just be time to upgrade to the e153 with the ATS cromoly cage upgrade!!!
hehehehe

Good idea Manny. maybe a member from out side the US can help me out biggrin.gif
I don't wanna by the e153 because next winter i'm serious about trying AWD.

So can anyone help me out with 3sge axles?

Here's what is used on my gt4 and SSII,III
Check if those are the partnumbers you need
43470-29466 Shaft assy front right/left outboard - $280
Its assembly 43460 on the attached image
IPB Image

Maybe you can order it in the states. If not I could try and find out what the s&h would be from Russia

Awesome, Thanks for the help RZ. smile.gif

Hmm, maybe someone with the part number catalog can tell me what part numbers the 3sge ones are, then possibly someone from outside the US could source them for me. It would REALLY be appreciated.

i got the axle situation out of the way for now. i just put auto zone lifetime warranty re-manufactured ones in. i think alota to do with these ones breaking is because they were warn and abused from the start or my car. I still wanna find some st202 ones or custom fabricated axles in the near future just in case. but i think these new ones will last a while. Thanks for the help guys.

I really hat bumping this thread because its so big lol.
but i wanted to show you a guys a pic i didnt take. its was taken at a car show
at a local college. it was a good turn out. i didnt have time to clean up my car or the engine bay though so its not as clean as id like it.

heres more pics of the car show. to bad these were taken before a majority of the nice cars showed up.

actually, right now the turbo is off the car along with the manifold and dp, im ceramic coating them and putting them back on. also i bought a large inline muffler because it was just way to loud for street use. once thats done ill try to get it up to DSG dent sport garage in Boston. hes been busy the last couple weekends with rally racing. soon though I cant wait to get it on the rollers. biggrin.gif

Any pictures of your exhaust setup as of now?

I <3 side exit wink.gif

right now i dont. i'm pulling down the exhaust to take out one resonator and replace it with a big muffler. but ill still be rocking the side exhaust. ill take a few pics of everything when im done. Sick of having to shut the car off at stop signs when i see a cop, or throwing it into neutral when i'm driving around and spot a cop lol.
