Looks great Romas, my hat is off to you.

you know the first thing Martin is gonna do is paint that valve cover red...wink.gif

how's the tune for daily driving ? get that sorted out ?

Thanks Dustin smile.gif I hope he aint gonna do what you said wink.gif Daily driving is 98% sorted out - its sometimes running a bit too rich - but this might be cuz of the Plugs / really cold weather / and having no chance to tune it up on the road cuz roads are all Icy - so no grip on the wheels and no road force acting on the wheels... But its drivible smile.gif

Nice Romas! Good work. I'm surprised that you've been able to boost 12.5. I was always thinking you could only hit that much with a fully built 7AFE. kindasad.gif But I guess it depends on how you build your setup. And you did good Romas! I hope the dyno results are a happy one.
The beauty and the beast. wink.gif Respect Romas, as usual.

Well, you guys can expect more pics from my planned meeting with Martin on his way home.

The people who never even had experience with a turbo 7A started that silly rumor. I've boosted 15 PSI untuned many times and the engine is as good as it ever was. Compression is still 220-220-215-220. smile.gif

sorry if im OT a bit here, but is 220 the best possible compression for the 7aFE ? Also, if someone has extra time, could you tell me or direct me to a site that tells me approximately how compression numbers are derived ? (Ie. Is it a function of stroke length, volume... what ?) Thanks!

P.s. Doggy, you are inspiring me to turbo tongue.gif

So Martin arrived few hours ago. I saw the beauties (Martin's GF and Celica biggrin.gif), the beast (engine) and its heart (turbo). Impressive. We had a small meet with my club buddies and drove home. I was testing Martin with my 320 Nm car but he did not fall behind. Tomorrow after breakfast I will take a closer look at the car in daylight and share my experience with you later on.

SLM is the brand, these are Defi Look a Likes. From the looks of it the 3 in the center are EGT/Oil Pressure/Oil Temp

And in the single pod on the left I assume Boost pressure.

This is a picture of SveNRG's car with them installed. I have them in the same location with Boost/OilPressure/Oil Temp installed.

On the valve cover - there are 2 breathers (pipes what go to the intake plenum) - on the valve cover leave them open and route the houses to the catch can or either route them down somthere, and on the intake plenum - shut the hoses down. And your valve cover will like the boost biggrin.gif

Thats some serious numbers of 7AFE. Romas i just admire all your projects. Its just the same are you doing some things on the exterior, interior or engine - they just always work and came out nicely.

Martin already drove away to Prague. But I managed to give his "SS-III T" a spin - nice experience, almost like driving GT4. We also did some photo shooting. Few pics below.

Yes, and after turboing my 7afe, i had a fault code on that sensor, after deleting it my car felt much better. I think because it was on safe mode all the time. i believe it was a Code 12 .
I never saw a code, but once I know I got some knock; the car pulls timing so much, it feels like you're pulling a 747. The turbo spools very quick and hard, but you don't go fast at all. Other than that, I never had problems, except breaking a piston at 3 PSI and it was due to some big injectors I had. I am now experimenting more with the engine, and swapping a bigger turbo I never installed, and a custom radiator. The 7A LOVES boost...it's just those rods, man. tongue.gif

BTW - Martin got to Czech Republic, spends night just behind the border and tomorrow drives home (just another 140 km).

Just bought a T3/T4 60 trim, for my 7afte. Think thats big enough? biggrin.gif
Oh yeah, man. That's what I have. But I'm swapping the TO4B compressor for the TO4E compressor the turbo originally came with but neer fitted. Hence, why I'm getting a custom radiator. wink.gif

when you feel it pulling timing like that, you have to get your foot off the gas asap, and lower your boost. the rods, pistons, rings, etc... can normally stand up to a turbo kit, as long as there is no knock.

hey oobe i have the to4e in mine if you use a honda manifold you wont have to use a costom radiator , look in my profile to see for youself ,and the header style mani from the honda will flow better than a log style ,it also will work with the auto as that is what mine is wink.gif the cost of the honda mani is a little less than a radiator as i tried the log style and costom radiator idea , i found that the stock one works really good and is alot stronger than most other radiators , the only thing i had to do was remove my ac for my down pipe but you would not have to if you run a 2 1/2 pipe but i ran a 3 in biggrin.gif i hope i could help some smile.gif

Oh yeah, that's common sense. Thank goodness I had the limiter set on the EBC. laugh.gif 80% of the time, I only boost like 5-7 PSI. That time I WOTed it, the timing pulled back at 15 PSI and CEL appeared... never happened before. Had to be the gas. What a horrible feeling...you know something went wrong. mad.gif
