I'm going to call Jasper (jdg371) this weekend to discuss, my local connection. The hotel should not be too hard, but I need to discuss a good car meet place that we won't be kicked off of...it will probably be a big local park like discussed earlier. We still have FOUR months, but sounds like enough interest that we should act on hotel now. One good thing is that this is a large metro area, so we should have options. Will check into camping too. If people get scattered at places to stay, then just make sure someone has GPS or Jasper and I can help out.

I'm planning on spending a week in Virginia, a few days at the beach and then my last days at the meet so if I can spend those last days in a camping ground that would be awesome as I love camping plus the first couple days I'll be in a nice hotel by the beach.

We of course know this area pretty well, so PLEASE bounce things off of us. I kind of was "away" when this thread first started way back, so the Itinerary link was giving an error by the time I tried to click on it.

Jasper has been PMing me, and he has scoped out Mt Trashmore this past weekend and was going to speak with the people there. I actually have not been there myself, but it is very big.

As far as hotels go, there are lots of options like Red Roof Inns, Hampton Inns, Holiday Inns, Days Inns, Courtyard Marriotts, Residence Inn, Super 8. BUT since you picked a late June date, we need to get on the ball on this...this area is hounded with tourists in the summer since it is a beach resort area!! We need to get people the info now so that they can start to call. I have a huge list of hotels and phone numbers, but you can also find this through Mapquest. I would start with the Mt Trashmore address: 310 Edwin Dr, Virginia Beach, VA 23462, then do one of those searches of all "Hotels" around it...then you will start to see all the hotels I mentioned around it. Try to stay with hotels in VA Beach or Chesapeake (the city i live in), b/c they will be closest to Mt Trashmore.

b) I'd like to see someone contact a local toyota dealer such as (5301 Virginia Beach Blvd. Virginia Beach, VA 23462 (757) 490-1111 ) to see if they would like to sponsor a little event maybe Friday evening/saturday morning for a meet giving us a spot to hangout talk to the dealer guys & support toyota
(lots of times dealers are really willing to work with this)

That would be Checkered Flag Toyota, we tried having them sponsor us with a previous meet and they said no. They are some cocky mofos, my brother works there as a tech.

Jen has inquired with a hotel and she is looking for a number of people that are "100%" sure of going and need a room. Give her a few days to recover, she is having her 21st Birthday today.

I guess it depends on where your coming from. If you go up and around the ramp, the road is so horrible.

I'm starting to mull this over. Not real fond of driving the car 8 hrs but if I have a crew of guys to help out if something goes wrong it might be ok.
