I'm still interested in this meet but i am finding it hard to believe the people who started this are still interested! There have been NO important updates nor has the decision of hotels or sleeping arrangements been made. The worst part of all is that there isn't even a true list of people attending. This outrages me seeing that this meet has a lot of potential and i have many friends not on 6gc that want to go!

Alright, jdg371, and I have sent out individual PMs to the people in the "list" that was made up to get definite hotel interest. Jasper (jdg) sent out the PMs to one half of the people, and then I FORWARDED his message out to the rest. Funny thing is that >>robdrummer, playr158, and itchy b x>> were all on my list. And since I sent the PM out like 5 days ago, and NO one has responded to me, the PM must have got lost or did not work. These guys just posted today and their tone makes it obvious that they did not get my PM. I have not used the Forward button much, but I got no error in sending the PMs and my box was far from full.

Jasper, Jen we just need to go ahead and reserve like 15 rooms at the Red Roof, b/c it will take FOREVER to officially get enough definites to fill the rooms. Jasper has only gotten 5 responses from his PMs. If all the rooms don't get filled come "game time", you can cancel some of them like 24 hrs in advance.

JEN, let's go ahead and reserve the rooms and get the group rate!! You are supposed to be taking the lead on this, but this is TOO slow! If you don't do it soon, I am just going to post up hotel info on five hotels that have good rates that I researched. We have to move, this area is CRAZY in late June with tourists, sports teams, etc.

No diggity...official hotel information WILL be posted by early next week. Not to go into any details, or hurt anyone's feelings, I will simply say that we have had "issues". But I have set an ultimatum, and the hotel info is top priority, trust me. Thanks for the patience, and voicing your concern. We are glad to host you down in this part of the country...you won't regret your visit.

dwg does sound good and i don't have to drive as much. maybe if u guys make a dwg meet it will be more organized then this one was.

I'm sure that people that don't live @ or around VA beach have the ability to pick up a phone and call for hotels/accomidations as well.... no need to decide "oh, this one is going nowhere cuz no one is doing anything(you really aren't helping by putting out stuff like that either) to get hotels for us". It's not that hard. It would be great if everyone ended up coming to the VA Beach East coast meet but, there has to be a little maturity in how this is handled, and how opinions on it are voiced for that matter. If you're that willing to not take the long drive, you probably weren't that interested in going anyways. Maybe we should all just chill a bit n wait for the outcome before calling the whole situation blown before anything has a chance to happen. Most of the people on here have jobs, social lives, and family lives. This is something we must understand before acting immature and jumping the gun. If you feel that strongly about going, and don't feel like waiting, hit up priceline, or make a phone call or 2...... Would be great to have everyone there but jeez, chill out and don't knock someone for trying to make an effort on YOUR and EVERYONE else's behalf to make this a good meet and have accomidations set up for us.

BTW, props n thanks to everyone spending some of their own time doing things/planning to try to get this set up.

i think a hotel should be picked, a large parking lot somewhere in a scenic area should be picked and we'll call it a meet.

im still interested in meeting up with the southern celica's, but i dont think everything should revolve around a person who barely posts anything productive on here.

Thank you very much. This is true. This area is HUGE and there are plenty of hotels that are close to each other. We do not all have to be at the same hotel. We will have the CAR meet at the same location. This is still a few months away, but like I said above, we will post some hotel info early next week...PROMISE! If you can't wait till then, then search for a hotel in Virginia Beach, Virginia...there are a ton of them. Thanks for the patience, and yes, I want this to happen.

I'm willing to fly my car to europe and do a meet if it's going to be awesome but what i don't have time for is to make a schedule and put this meet in my book to attend and then have it be cancelled due to not being prepared or some crap. there are plenty more meets i could go to but i plan on attending this one becuz it had a good plan. Now all i ask is for people to get there sh!t taken care of on here and plan it out right or don't bother wasting the time to post it up here! CELICAV has done the best job out of everyone but if the person who has started this can't take 2 min. in a whole month to post 1 single update something is wrong... and besides celicav i don't see much effort for mine or anyone elses behalf

i think celicav is doing as much as he can...

but i do agree that the people who intially started this should get something together.

and i also agree... i dont mind going to this at all... but its soooo slapped together now!! why go as a group and be all independant? i cant se 40 some people scattered across an area that less than half know their way around, gps or not, i see that being a headache.

if DWG is planned... ill go to that, less than an hour away, pretty much the same crew would attend - the NE crew, ny, nj, pa, and prolly some others. we'll all prolly stay at the same place, except for the locals, and spend more time having fun than navigating around

So I went on travelocity.com and looked for hotels, cause it would be cool if we could ACTUALLY get this meet underway.... It's 3 months away!!!
I just searched for a hotel with 5+ rooms just to get an idea of prices, because I have no clue how many people are planning on going. I found a hotel that is $108 per room per night (Knights Inn Suites Virginia Beach).... Now it's not the BEST place, but you do get what you paid for. Yet again I don't know how many want to sleep 4 people to one room to reduce cost, or how many would like to have their own room. If someone gets me the information I could easily put it together... prices and everything!


If someone could PM me if you are actually planning on attending and I will plan this. It would give me something to do with all my free time I have right now!!!

CelicaChick, Celicav and I have tried that. I got a total of 9 counts of people attending the meet and needing a hotel.

He has sent out PMs to multiple members that have shown "interest" in the meet..
I have been busy for a few days and it seems that its just as close to getting butchered as a turkey on Thanksgiving. If it goes down like this the meet is going to consist of 3 members. Don't worry ill try to get some High Res Photos for you guys...
