We plan to sell them as that when we're done and start all over, 98 SS-III Beams for her, 96 GT-Four for me tongue.gif

Update: H3 Super White 100W globes fitted to fog lights, used to be yucky yellow like the low beams.

Not really.... The revving characteristics are completely different between all the engines.... the engine blocks in the different 3S motors are a similar shape and bolt straight up if that's what you mean, but their internals are different. 3S-GE with ACIS has completely different characteristics to 3S-FE, 3S-GELU with TVIS, 3S-GE with VVT-i, 3S-GTE with turbo

Oh okay. I just thought that the ST205 had the 3S-GE as well.
ST205 has 3S-GTE, the T in terms of design differences is alot more than a Turbocharger

lights look pretty sweet, I got blue ones and then come out very bright white. get some for your park/low beams biggrin.gif

when are you lowering it?

After some research, the Tein S-Tech is incompatible with Super Strut Suspension frown.gif

Seems like I'm only going to be able to fill the gap in the guard with bigger wheels...

you tried mag and turbo for different brands? you've got redline performance up there, tried that?

or TRD make superstrut lowering springs, then get them compressed, since they usually aren't low enough

Clock & Dash (Camera doesn't do it any justice at all sorry) -- Thanks to WWsidewinder for showing us how to properly change the clock colour

looks great, but the guage cluster is it the camera's fault? because it looks dark to me kindasad.gif

and wow didn't realise you had a three post

ST202 SS-II CELICA threadNew Zealand members check inSticky thread's: How to contribute and troubleshoot.
The camera always fails to capture the dash... It is a little dark at the top due to the 180 degree bulbs I use instead of the 360 degree ones, but even the darkest part is brighter than normal when your sitting in the car.

The 3 post steering wheel is for ppl without airbags.. I want to get a 13" momo later on..

nah couldnt do tht to him he;d kik my ass to timbuktoo and bak lol biggrin.gif
Updates:

1. Ram air system almost ready to go, the sealed airbox is made up, the bumper scoop is 50%, the battery is still in the way of the airbox fitting, I have all the bits to move it to the boot but am still figuring out a way to tie down the battery without drilling new holes, there are two holes already there I would like to use but a solid metal undertray would be needed to properly secure the battery to the two holes to the left of the boot (they appear to be factory bunged holes).

2. After driving so many kms with ACIS engage set between 4200 and 4500, It's becoming obvious that on the stock engine a flat spot is created after the initial ACIS engage untill around 5000 rpm, so have set it back to 4800 for now.

Mythbusters @ home!!!!!!:

1. Officially debunked by moi after 1,000kms of driving!!!! Simota Super Spiral, Buy at broomfish

"SIMOTA's high speed SUPER SPIRAL creates a vortex air flow to improve air & fuel mixture enhancing your engines performance. It reduces the carbon accumulation in the engine and substantially increases the horsepower to your engine.

SUPER SPIRAL TURBO VENTILATOR blades are made of advanced precision bearing technology (running up to 30,000 RPM). Light weight aluminum alloy design is not only anti-rust, but also has the ability to match your high-revving engine. The blades have special angles to promote extra air flow to the inlet manifold and assist in providing better engine combustion. Experience strong torque during low to medium RPM ranges but also extreme horsepower at higher engine revolutions.
The upgraded fuel combustion can reduce carbon accumulation to your engine. Furthermore, it is environment friendly and greatly increases performance efficiency.

MANUFACTURERS CLAIM:
Improved fuel economy
Instant increase in engine power
Reduction in carbon accumulation to your engine
Minimized air pollution
Enhanced throttle response and acceleration
DIYEasy to install, DIY"

Results:
* Improved fuel economy -- Possibly, Being an intake RESTRICTOR,You could argue that you would use less gas if you could never fully open your throttle (in effect)
* Improved throttle response -- Definitely not, It felt like it needed to take some time for the vacuum to get the blades spinning before power built up, Big performance loss in the lower RPM range was observed, minor performance loss observed in the mid-range.
* Extreme horsepower at higher engine revolutions -- The revvy powerband characteristics of the 3S-GE engine were nowhere to be found with the Super Spiral installed. Power plateaued close to 6000 rpm, 5000 rpm was the last surge. Generally a 3S-GE engine has 3 surges at ACIS, 5000 & 6000 pulling strong to the 7000 redline, the spiral seemed to flatten the torque curve similar to an FE engine at the same time eliminating high rpm horsepower.
* Easy to install, DIY -- The only claim that proved to be true, 2 simple 77mm hose clamps just like any intake joiner or pipe.

The test was done with the original factory rubber intake hose returned, the end of the stock intake hose would have the Super Spiral connecting the pod filter as a joiner for the first 1000 kms and then to be replaced with just a simple 3" abs plastic joiner. The 3" abs plastic joiner turned out to be the performance enhancer in the end.

Net result: $50 for a cool looking paperweight!!!!!

Also coming soon:

Low wattage driving lights (fogs)

Low wattage tail lights

Engine performance seems to take a very small but noticeable hit with the voltage drop that running the fogs during the day (love the look) causes, Probably due to a weak alternator or battery or combination of the two.

hey man you've been away for a while (hoped you've checked up to where I am with my celica tongue.gif)
post a pic once you have finished the airbox etc

those lights look nice, hope they are bright enough though, might be the battery if you've mounted it in the boot??

Pics of progress so far:
cold air box, power distribution block (2ga in, 2x 4ga out), 2 gauge wire already laid out to the boot.

nice looking good cold airbox FTW!!

"power distribution block..." whats all that for battery in boot?

cold air box is in!! OMG it's so loud and bassy now hahaha, i've lost a little bit of low end throttle response but from 3 onwards its terrifying!!!!!! hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!! yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...

that's not the best of it though, i'm still way too excited to install the ram scoop!!!! i realised getting a pipe up between the bumper and the radiator will require removing the front bumper frown.gif that will be tomorrow's project

wow, your doing a lot of work thumbsup.gif I think after you've finished the CAB's CAI, you should tidy up the engine bay a little (wires and hoses) then it would look real nice

Lol thought you were calling my ride a taxi for a sec tongue.gif Was gonna say my Celly aint no super white 040 tongue.gif

Just noticed that there is no way a 3" pipe is going to get past the huge radiator, I'm going to need 2 holes cut in the bottom plastic with a pipe to curl under it.. It'll look like a weird piece of plumbing like an FMIC but not haha

lol

why not go through the side, where the stock one goes, and just have a pipe stopping just before the spot light?

Hay Great work.

When I saw you last you were only working on the Cabeling.

Great work mate in getting the Battery in the boot as well as the cold air box

As for the cold air what a bout a grill in the bonnet... if you rotate the cold air box 90 to the right (From the Front) you could do a bonnet scoop???

Hay I got it, A GT4 Bonnet and get the cold air from the front or top scoop... biggrin.gif

Hay if you want help mounting the Amp and Sub let me know and I'll come over and give you a hand.
