Oh herro! I presume it was your Celica I saw lurking at Jamboree?

herro, yes sure was, though from the photos that are springing up everywhere, mine only seems to be in the background.

>Hey nice trd strut bar just wondering do they fit on the gt4 st205 ? Found one on trademe http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-...n-753382490.htm
Very clean car by the way

Will fit but won't be able to open intercooler water fill cap.
If have access to welder can mod to make work but only if
don't care about cutting up.

Anyway, as always Rusty top notch work . Tear up seeing all those
oem and TRD parts . Hopefully people read this and realize this is only
way to build a car . Cutting corners cost you more in long term . Invest
now in good parts . Stay away from Chinese crap on Ebay and those
discount auto part chains worldwide . As mentioned before one of cleanest 6th on the planet .

Rip Paul walker'' DUDE I ALMOST HAD YOU ''
Haha I just saw that brace too.

Yeah I'll agree with FORGMAN, maybe time for a front mount or converting to ST215 intake

Thanks, appreciate the comments. Looking forward to getting these parts in and feeling the difference they bring smile.gif

So over the weekend I, my brother & a mechanic friend of mine removed the trans from my SS-II. Have all the bolts in labelled bags, so it'll make it easier for reinstalling later on.

Can't wait to feel the difference of the Jun flywheel, SS clutch line & TRD clutch set up compared to the above stock set up.

The S54-06A out

It was after we got into the top 5th gear cover where we stopped so reinstalled the bolts

And yup non LSD thin bar, soon to be replaced with TRD no bar goodness.

The thicker 3S-GE axles

So where am I up to now, you ask? Other than a bit of cleaning. I'm dropping the gearbox off to a good friend who works at Toyota and is going to do the LSD install for me. I've picked up the rear main crank seal - something I missed of my shopping list. and this weekend we'll do the seal, install the new flywheel & clutch ready for when the gearbox comes back. And replace the passengers or LH side CV boots, as the outer one is on its way out.
The front & rear engine mounts are new with polyurethane filled to give a slight added strength, and since the trans mount was out and we had spare sealant we did that mount too.

I look forward to see the progress on that trans! Please post your thoughts on how the clutch type lsd engages once you have everything all buttoned up
first time doing a clutch job on your car?

smooth out the exhaust header entrance while your at it, for the extra gains!

Whilst under the car I've found what I can only think of is a different model light plug. Possibly GT4, Curren or ST202/ST205 Carina. Thoughts it sits just above the front indicator/below the low beam housing.

Also been discussing about the flywheel has what appears to be a coat on it. Asked around a few people, others with Jun flywheels, they were bare metal

What is the layer, do I remove it? The the last thing I want to do is install it, then to find out the clutch slips. Some possibilities were black oxide(black zinc, what you'll find on new brake rotors) or the effect from nitriding. I sent an email to Jun aswell half not expecting a reply. But got an email back saying the black colour on the flywheel is the result from the heat treatment nitriding. So happy to install it now after a clean up. Still waiting on the return of transmission.

Still looking into how am I going to undo the rubber clutch cable.

Just curious...what is the weight of the flywheel?

My 7AFE to 4AGE 20V Blacktop conversion!
Factory weight is 7.4kgs, new lightweight is 4.8kgs, they do an ultra lightweight of 4.5kgs too.

Found out lastnight that transmission is ready to be picked up today, so can get it in to get LSD installed. Should look pretty clean. smile.gif

Picked up the transmission today from the sodablaster, after seeing the result on other members I had to try. Very impressed, looks almost new & feels soft & clean.

Only had cellphone with me, but I'll try get some better photos when I have it back home.

Great success yesterday, I had some time to remove the old line & get the new Jspeed one in. I have to undo it again as I haven't put the plate on that sits on the gearbox, as I don't know which way it goes lol. No big deal though. Waiting on friend to put lsd in still. So hopefully soon.

JSpeed clutch lines... You never cease to amaze! tongue.gif

Can't wait for updates after the LSD.... get your friends on it! smile.gif

glad u finally got it together smile.gif
Cheers guys

Right more updates.

Had the thought that I might aswell do some more work done while I wait for the gearbox.
So...

Had my friend come round who helped me last time remove everything. This time we did the rear main crank seal (part number superseded now).

Then just as we were about to fit the flywheel, I couldn't find the new flywheel bolts kindasad.gif But after a quick hunt around found them, put red loctite on them and crank to spec (107Nm)

Next up was replacing the passengers CV boots (or the shorter axle) as the outer boot was starting to fray (not leaking or exploded yet) made sense to replace as axles were off. - Driver's CV boots had been replaced last year. Our 3S-GE axles are the thicker type & feature 6 ball bearings, from memory, 5S-FE's have less bearings & a slightly different design?

Now today I've just installed the new TRD clutch sports disc & cover.

Old vs new

New disc

All on & torqued (19Nm)
