I do a ridiculous amount of driving, and that's only to school and work. I don't even do anything on the weekends. And that's not counting the mileage I drive when I'm not in my car, like the 350 mile one way trip to Nashville in our Camry this weekend. That's an extra 700 miles that didn't go on the Celica. Needless to say, I've pushed my oil changes back to every 5,000 miles. No need to change it every two weeks. At any rate, I'm buying a 3S-GTE right now and I'd love to have it installed in time for this meet.

When you get it, make sure that you don't make the same mistake I did when I got one for the alltrac.

Get a new clutch, Timing belt, Water pump, tensioner and thermostat.

If you want to, now would be the perfect time to upgrade the oil pump to the 98+ 5S high volume oil pump.

I planned on replacing all that. I figure it's a lot easier to do it before I put the motor in, so it needs to be done. I'm looking into clutches now. I'd like Exedy, but there are a lot of people on here running Spec clutches. I need to read up on the Specs, but I know Exedy makes a good product. I've never considered the 5S high volume oil pump though. That's not a bad idea at all. I'd rather be safe, and a new oil pump is one less thing I'd have to worry about. Thanks bloodMoney

well i can't go guys, i'm joining the airforce and they have me leaving for bootcamp in april. I know i organized this and i feel bad now because i cant go to meet all of you guys. If any of you ever go to a texas meet I'll be there. Someone needs to step forward and continue organizing this to make sure its on track. Again im sorry.

That sucks dude But joining the Air Force is pretty cool. If you head back to the Midwest any time soon, you'll have to stop in for a meet.

Could we maybe get an updated list of who will be going? If I need to, I am only a couple of hours from St. Louis, so I can head over there one of these days and check out some of the areas we had discussed, maybe get some pictures so everyone knows where we might be.

6gen91, I'm 6 hours due south. It's a long haul from Chicago.

Before too long, I will PM everyone who said they will attend the Midwest Meet to see who is still in but hasn't checked the thread. Seeing more interest from up north right now, it almost seems better to shift the meet from the St. Louis are to somewhere in Northern Illinois or somewhere. Just depends though, St. Louis may still be central if there is the same interest.

One of my friends around here started a huge Starved Rock meet a few years back. I've never been though; it's more of a Honda meet, even though it's open to everyone. Depending on who is still coming, it may be better to move the Midwest Meet to Starved Rock. Right now, I see more interest from up north than anywhere else, but like I said, I will send PM's to everyone who RSVP'd to this meet to see who is still in, and where would be the most central.

did freddy ever put down the deposit for the pavillion at the park? I'd hate to move it if the deposit and reservation has already been made.

But then again, if the interest is more north, then it makes sense to move it up north.
