I'd like to make a few notes. Sorry for those of you whose names were NOT on the list when I posted the deadline for the t-shirts. If you would still like one, let me know at the meet. I'll try to work something out but it may take awhile for me to get them to you.
Oh, and we still need the following items:
-Utensils
-Buns?
-Vegetarian food (salad or some rolls of some sort)
-Stereo/speakers/MP3 player (looks like the tables are quite a distance away from the parking lot so using our cars will be out of the question)
Things we already have (or someone will bring):
-MEAT/chicken?
-Cups
-Condiments (ketchup/catsup/mustard/etc)
-Plates
-Napkins/paper towels
-Drinks (I assume soda/water?)
-Beer/ice coolers (for 21+ only)
-Chips
-Mexican food
-Pickles
-Canopy/shade
-Charcoal, matches (and lighter fluid?)
-Rice? seriously, are you bringing this or what?
-Trash bags
Okay, now for some suggestions:
1) It seems like it will be a bit on the cooler side so please dress accordingly (a spare sweater/jacket might be nice).
2) If you have a two-way radio/walkie talkie, bring it as we may need it to keep communication between cars when we take a cruise around the area. And of course, if you got a GPS navi, bring it.
3) The park closes at sunset and that will most likely be ~5pm. I don't know what people's plans are for that night, but there definitely will be an after-party for those who are not in a hurry to get back home. No biggie for those who cannot make it, all of the events will be conclude as scheduled. Anything afterwards is just bonus.
4) I'd like to emphasize the need to be there on time. The schedule for events is tight...only 4 hours from 12 to 4pm, so that makes for an efficient meet. So please try to get there on time. Of course, things don't actually start until 1 (like lunch) so drive safe and get there when you get there.
5) Lastly, this is in a public area, albeit a secluded one. Let's keep that in mind and not try to attract the wrong type of attention (namely, from the park ranger/police). Last thing we want is for someone to get a ticket and the meet broken up prematurely. Gosh, do I sound like a nagging mom now?

>Any caravans leaving from Sacramento area (Fair Oaks)? Always better to travel in 6GC packs

That's a good idea to set up some caravans. I'm not sure who else is up in that area though.
Hey Tip, if you see this (since you don't have a phone and it's nearly impossible for me to reach you), do you think you could meet up early so that we are able to caravan to the meet? There are only a few of us who are from this area, and I will most likely be heading out with Nam. Actually I think it will just be Nam, you, and I and possibly John if he is able to show up. Me and John went to your house the other day to see if you wanted to hang out, but we couldn't find you because you have no phone. It reminded me of 1996 when not everybody had cell phones yet and people still used pay phones and answering machines. I'm not even sure if you still have internet, so maybe I'll mail you a letter and you can write back to me if I don't see you reply on here.
ill b there early bout 2 hours early cause i hate bein late for anythin....when u say caravan wat is dat????? never knew wat yal is talkin bout lolz i dont get out much.

to "caravan" is to meet nearer home base with cars from your area and drive down together, also known as to "convoy" together. a favorable way to travel i feel as you have help in an emerency and can help if someone else does. at least thats my philosophy anyway.

You might as well just show up on time. The earlier everybody decides to show up, forces other people to get there EVEN earlier before you get there just to set stuff up for everybody. So say the meet starts at 12pm, but you (along with other people) want to get there at 10am. That forces the people who need to set things up to get there even earlier (say, 8am). It's more of an inconvenience to everybody else to show up 2 hours early. I would say to show up between the times of 11:30am-12:00pm would be OPTIMAL.

Yeahh, I was gonna ask about that. Can I have my buddy go? He has a veedub and has never really been to a car meet before. I want him to experience a good one (because we all know Celicas are the best car ever made and have the greatest community of people)

Ok guys, it's perfectly fine to bring friends and what not, but they have to be added to the list. The list is there so that we know how many people to expect and how much food everybody needs to bring. The more people who show up, the more food, drinks and materials we are going to have to have. Each person, whether they are a member here or not, should contribute something to the meet, instead of just showing up and eating all the food.
As of right now, the meet is @ 16 members with Benzo bringing 2 more people.
Tip, I don't understand what you are saying. First you say you wanted to drive there by yourself, cause your a loner, then you have a few friends going with you. Are you driving up there alone, or are you bringing friends? If you are bringing friends, then you already have your caravan set correct? I recommend that you do not plan to drive there alone because you have no cell phone. Please write down either my number or Nam's number on a piece of paper before you leave just in case anything happens, you will be able to reach us by using someones' cell phone.
John, you can invite your friend if you would like.
With that said, I would also like to stress some of the rules which apply to EVERYBODY at the meet, and not just the members. This is a 6gc.net meet, and the same rules do apply, along with your typical meet rules.
>>Rules and regulations!
Even though we are renting out the park, we have to obey the laws. No racing in the parking lot or speeding! This is a show meet, not a track meet! If you dont like it, go home. No burn out and all that bs. No Reving! Like i said, this is not a track day.
No hating on other cars. There will be other type of models at the meet though the majority will be celicas so make them feel comfortable. None of the highschool personality sh*t also no rice calling on other celicas. Just because you don't like how they mod doesn't mean u have to call it rice. Save it to yourself.>>
Note* I am on the fence about the no alcohol rule knowing that there will be a lot of members who are under the age of 21. Sure, we could just tell you guys not to touch it, but we know how cool kids always want to be a badass. I will update the rules and regulations after further discussion with the event organizer.

Alright. My friend makes some KILLER corn soup, I can probably have him bring some of that. Maybe his taco soup, too... Mmm.

Derrick, technically we don't know if we are renting out the park yet,I will be calling them probably tomorow to work everything out. As for other cars it's fine, but if they degrade the meet in anyway they will be banned from returning to other meets.I think this should be an alcohol free meet,If u want to drink,do so afterwards on your own time.
BANNED. for life, you moron.
Thanks Ty. I will update the list.
dst94, epocsirh, ZEROCOOL, Flyinglizard, VieT9sD, johnehh and azn87. Please choose an item to bring, from the list that CAMAricer has posted. Or come up with your own. I'm not going to force anybody to bring something, but if we don't have enough people contribute to this meet, we may not have enough food to go around. We are looking at 20+ people attending. Please do not be vague on your description of what you are bringing. If you aren't clear on what you are bringing, other people may not know what still needs to be brought.

IMPORTANT UPDATE
I went to the location today to get some answers to my questions and things don't look so good (I called, their office doesn't pick up, so I just drove there).
First, I don't think the Windy Cove parking lot/picnic area will be open to the public. As far as I can tell, all signs point to it being CLOSED on January 16th. There is an adjacent campsite, which might be an option. But it's going to be $8 a car (self-registration of course, so it's really up to you if you want to pay the $8). We'll just take up adjacent camping sites so we can all park together. There's also another campsite/picnic area ~3 miles away which would better accommodate our meet. This one has an $5 self-registration fee, but has a proper grill/table area that can seat all of us. So on the morning of the meet, plan to arrive at the DESIGNATED location at Windy Cove. One of us will be there to give you instructions on how to get to the REAL meet location. I'll post up maps so you can also do your own research beforehand.
Second, the campsite doesn't have adequate seating for 20+ people, so please be advised to bring a folding/collapsible chair if you got one.
Third, it's cold. Like 49 degrees cold. Overcast too. Forecast on Jan16th will be morning clouds, partly sunshine. Wear a sweater or a jacket and a beanie if you have one. Gloves too.
Fourth, it gets dark quickly after 4:30. By 5pm, it will be too dark to do anything and we'll probably be asked to leave by the camp host.
Fifth, there will be tolls for those coming from the west or south (San Francisco/Fresno). So bring about $20 in cash (the toll is only $4, but for those coming from San Francisco, we got the Bay Bridge to worry about too).
Sixth, the roads are narrow and the speed is limited to 55mph in the main highway. Roads to the other campsite are even narrower and have a speed limit of 15 to 25 MPH.
Seventh, no alcohol. Period. The entire place have signs posted that say no alcohol is permitted. So don't bring any.
*sigh*, next time we will have a meet in a more meet-friendly location...this one is neat and all, but such a headache...
