stock ecu, no fuel tuning?? the extra 20-30cc from the 86.5 pistons / .020 overbore doesnt matter? or is there any stage where you would lean out? suppose you wouldnt know either?

just asking, your engine build sounds identical to mine except i went for je pistons instead of wiseco

I haven't had any lean situations at all. I doubt the slight overbore really matters too much in that respect. My Africa reader stays right between 13-14. The bump in compression is a nice advantage, but no I have no fuel management and running stock Ecu.

those are great!

u know that IS a good question... my cylinder has been bored .020 but i get the weird lean issue when cruising though, not when on gas

Mine doesn't lean out....
I re-installed my TRD 3 point bar. So here are a few pics. I also installed the Kirkosaurus mounts, and I wanted to freaking KILL myself on that rear mount! It only took me 15 minutes to do the front. I think i'm going to have to buy a new rear mount though because the two studs on the back mount miraculously stripped themselves. FML! Here are pics anyways.

I hate that mount!
that mount sucksss! glad to see the TRD Bar fitting well! mines still touches a little too =/

I'm going to redesign a custom throttle bracket. 20 bucks shipped for anyone interested! And that rear mount can eat a d!$%!!! I can't stand the damn thing. Held me up for 3 hours the other day!

I'd be interested.

I'm also putting in the Kirk poly mounts, but I'm doing it while the engine is OUT of the car... should make it easier, yeah?

KAOS|THE PROGRESSION - SLOW & STEADY|PARTING OUT- it ALL must go!|
I don't think its really going to be any easier. All the steps to do it with the engine in are about the same with the engine out. Either way you look at it that rear mount will be problematic.
im trying to get a throttle body plate like the ATS one for the 2nd gen made up to get rid of the the fatory silicone coupler. i want it so its angled a tad so it clears the TRD bar.

interested to see that throttle bracket too wink.gif

Ted, I will try to make one of those too. Would just need to create a gasket for it.
Got some more work today. I created a new throttle bracket for use with my TRD tower bar, re-mounted my TRD bar, and modified the back end of my car so that my exhaust would quit bumping against it. Here are some pics!

Just read this entire thread, awesome swap, super clean! Inspiration for me to get back in the garage and get my 3S into the car. biggrin.gif

PS: That rear mount is my least favorite thing in the whole engine bay, it blows.
when I was putting the engine on the blue car, I spent a little over an hour trying to get that rear mount in place, gave up and went home, next day after work, went back to give it another shot and 5 minutes later it was in laugh.gif

as bad as it is, I think I have it under control now, I can take it out and back in in less than 20 minutes with no issues anymore.
Exhaust sounds great! I still get a kick out of your BOV. "CHOOOOOOOO" Makes my day every time.

^^ I envy you!
I would remove the washers from under your strut brace, If its a clearance issue, make up an alloy plate the same size as the strut tower top.........it really needs its full surface area as a contact patch.

The guy at the dyno had it in 3rd. Just wish my tranny wasn't the weak point chasing the mustang 3rd through 5th top end I could keep up, but I have to be so careful in 1st and 2nd.
Hello all! It's been a while since I've had an update, but after some time, and the accumulation of some more funds I went ahead and purchased an AEM water/meth kit, Synapse BOV, and the Symtech map clamp. Overall not a bad install, but ran into a few gremlins as usual. I must admit that I LOVE how the car runs with the meth, and running 20psi on a daily basis isn't too bad either! The sound the engine makes when injecting the meth is INCREDIBLE!!! The Synapse is pretty bad ass too! Got the pics below for you guys!

Meth Nozzle

Meth Filter, and "T" connection to the MAP line for the water/meth controller.

Here is a pic of the MAP Clamp, Meth injection line, and the Meth injection boost signal line.

This is where I mounted the 1 gallon water/meth tank and the pump.

Meth Tank...this stuff runs out QUICK!

This is the switch I installed for the whole system. The red button on top glows when I press it to activate the system. The green LED below cycles when water/meth is actually being injected into the motor.

Synapse BOV

Awesome job dude, Im right behind u and the rest of the 3s guys. Just ordered my motor today.
