Cheers bro hope u get good numbers bro !!!
Well guys i feel like i let us down. Couldnt run faster than a 14 flat... too much wheel spin and not enough grip. .533 reaction time and 107mph over the line frown.gif
Put that e153 in there id say youll be running 13.5. For your first time out on a track id say you gave it hell. if anything i let 6gc's down. haha
the 3sgte with a s54 trans is a 13 section track car and a 12 sec street car, dont let that time let you down.. on the streets from say a 20 roll you could argue for a 12 sec car..the cars dont do to well from a dig lol 107mph is just about a 12 section pass.. just wheel spin killed you.

my 3s/s54 beat a hatch that on the street that went 13.2 on the track to give you an idea.

14 flat isnt bad for its first time out, atta boy Ben!

The car caught up like a missile on everyone i raced, like you said Ted95...from a dig that gear ratio kills you. Beat a wrx automatic but couldnt beat a manual. These were non-sti's but i was catching up quickly.
3rd gear prob saved you on every pass right? how much boost were you running yessterday?

I was running in variations between 16-17psi. 3rd and 4th save me!
Close to a half-second r/t is generally regarded as pretty fine, eh? Well done.

And i still have yet to figure out why they were running pro tree. That messed me up probly more then ben. Ebrake trick works though.
did a good job Ben, the car pulls good once you get traction. you will solve alot of that issue with a set of BFG's KDW2's in the front. those tires hook and make a big difference in first a second gear, as well as a few poly mods too. thats what im running and i love them.

Ben i wish we had the camera facing your car so we could compare launches. You did great holding it in boost.
Im already looking at getting some wider wheels! Ive got to get that drag time down!
yes! wider wheels and turn your boost down a smigen! when I went to the rock this spring I ran a 14.2 on 8lbs maybe 14 lbs will tame that wheel spin
because i could straight up launch with no tire spin on 8lbs

QUOTE (Galcobar @ Oct 15, 2008 - 2:44 AM)You want power but have no money. That's a problem.Cheap. Reliable. Fast. Pick two.
Well guys I decided after the results that I put down at the track that it was time for some much needed suspension/handling/braking upgrades.

What I have:

Celica GT4 front calipers
Cadillac Catera Front Rotors

What I just bought:

XXR 530 et25 5x100 17x8.25's
73.1 to 54.1 hubcentric rings
project KIKS two step 40 gram lugs
d2 racing coilovers

Still debating on what tire size to run because I don't want an inaccurate speedometer, but I can't decide on the tire width...

What are your thoughs?

215/45/17's
or
225/45/17's
id go for 225's more tread on the ground means better bite..

other things to look for would be front and rear poly sway bar bushings, i noticed a decrease in wheel spin and torque steer with them as well as st185 front endlinks and racingbeat miata rears. those have helped stiffen my coupe up and have given me better bite.

Be careful with 225s you get tons of grip but you just move your s54 weak point.
I'm running 225/45/17 on the 1mz an have snapped both axles under a hard launch

Heard you loud and clear on that! The car is going to be designed for autox events so I think the 225's are my best bet, but for those occasional
1/4 mile days in the future I want to have a solid set up, but trust me...this time I will turn the boost waaaay down to save the axles.

Ok figured you had some kind of plan lol
Just wouldn't have felt right not saying something tho lol

My thoughts are that you just dropped a crazy amount of money on the car. Nice upgrades.

And 225.
