new updates. will have a few pics to post tm. still waiting for harness to come in. but got i few smaller things done.
Alright new pics as promised. First on i cleaned up the two heat shields i'm going to leave on the car.. came out pretty good..

Then got my trany in the air and prepped ready for paint

Also got some more smaller pieces that i needed to re-paint red/ and the mounts black

And here's the pic of the trany after paint.. I thought it came out pretty good..

Looking good, my man. You are doing it the right way! thumbsup.gif

thanks adam. I can't wait to be finished either. i'm ready to get this thing running. hopefully the rest of my stuff gets here soon. getting excited.
you should have waited until you converted the transmission to painted, other than that looks like top notch work, I'm sure the result will b nothing less than great.
thanks culp.. now i feel like an idiot as i was never informed about having to convert the trany. now i've been doing search about it. I have shift cables the inner axles and the outer axles. but i'm pretty lost on the needing a diff linkage and moving it to the back side of trany.. any info is greatly appreciated..
got the shift links figured out. to make sure i got everything i need for this conversion.. I got the cables the links the cable keepers. and the inner and outer axles hopefully that's everything i need so now i can start getting this conversion done and get everything put together..
go go GO...you're almost there, post pictures of the update and make people envy you.

lol thanks chacha.. Just waiting on my wiring harness from Dr. Tweak.. I ordered my greddy type rz bov and my oil pressure gauge so i have a new sender. And my oil sandwhich. All i got left to buy is air filter, gear lube oil and filter and get my flywheel resurfaced. Getting excited..
well new updates while i been waiting for my harness and my trany conversion parts. I went and re wired my oil press gauge and boost gauge.. and got my intercooler piping. just gotta re weld a new flange for the greddy rz bov. and my new sender and oil sandwhich came in. all i got left is a air filter. once harness comes in i will be getting that put back on with intake manifold. and have my fly wheel re surfaced and get my rear main real replaced then will get trany and new clutch put in and be ready to drop it in the car and start putting everything else back together.. hopefully get harness in next week or two. can't wait really getting excited and ready to have some 3s power.
Well it's been a while since i've posted up my progress.. Haven't been really working on it much lately since i haven't had my harness back yet.. But good news is the harness will be here friday. But what i have got done since is got my greddy flange welded on my piping and sent it in to get powder coated that polish look. Got my stock gt cables out today and getting ready to install the st205 cables and got the internal portion of shift link put on. Gonna drill and tap the two holes tonight and get other part on so i can touch up paint in again. Hopefully once the cables get in friday we will be getting intake manifold and throttle body back on and get my fly wheel resurfaced and get the trany and clutch put on and hopefully have it dropped in the car in the next couple weeks. Will have more progess and pics soon!
Well got engine dropped into car today.. Only problem is i have the pass side and the drivers side mount hooked up.. and the front stock 5s mount is to long to fit into rubber. and the back mount is off too so i still got some figuring out to do on those two mounts before i can finish hooking everything up.. and also with the e153 trany do i need spacers for my axles? Please let me know
any pics of the front and that back mount for the e153 swapped people? Let me know or post on here.
thanks
i have keep the same front mounth for my swap, as the same for tha passenger side,

here pic of the custom mouth of driver side on the tranny

and other custom mouth for the back of tranny
as u can see, its fit perfect

and yes u need spacer

call dr tweak.. he makes those
you need the st205 rear mount and bracket, along with the driver's side mount and bracket, then everything just mounts up 100%.

cap the hard line going to it, and drill a hole in your gas cap to vent the exess pressure.

thanks pressure.. i'll be doing that soon lol. now another question for you. I bought intercooler piping from jim. now i've been messing a bit with the pipe coming off turbo. and he gave me a 45 degree coupler for it and i don't see how it takes a left one eighty an don't see a way it's going to clear oil dip stick and my o2 sensor? any ideas.

that piping is prolly the piping off my old 5sfte, so it prolly will need to be cut and rewelded to clear on the 3rd gen, i cant say for sure.
