Know what else you won't miss? A back seat and carpet when you strip this thing out and make it a lightweight track car. wink.gif

Now that it has the power I'd make it into a luxurious grand tourer. Replace the back seat with a liquor cooler. tongue.gif

I've been debating On witch way I want to go
I've wanted a stripped out racer/dd for a long time. But a comfy sporty car Would be just as nice.
But once the suspension is done......it won't be that comfy of a ride anymore

Get super adjustable coil-overs so you can go from street to track setups in no time. redface.gif

With as low as I'm gonna go I don't think it'll matter. smile.gif

Hmm, I still say luxury. Track prepped car will be fun on the road for like 5 minutes, after that you'll go crazy. I at one point removed my rear seat, the road noise that came through with just that gone was insane. You'll want to drive it instead of your regular GT once it's all sorted. Maybe turn the coupe into a track car. Being this one is swapped with an engine that was never available from the factory, it'll ruin some events that go by certain classes etc...

Ah but you forget I use to dd a stripped 240sx that had a dashboard drives seat an the drivers door panel. Or an 2.5 inch straight pipe exhaust an a escort zx2 that was the same basic way but the exhaust stopped at the doors lol.
But they both lacked something the celica has
The 240 handled well but was slow as hell
The zx2 was stupid quick but did handle for crap.
The 1mz does both very well.
I have no fear of how loud it will be.
The coupe will end up being the road trip car an stay as good old reliable...... just with alil bigger heart down the road smile.gif

Well there's your problem, you never swapped the 240. tongue.gif

Meh, I just like things quite when driving. Except for the intake, and depending on the engine the exhaust.

If the shell would have been alil cleaner I probably would have kept it
I like a loud car. It gets alil old on long trips but on my normal drive I don't mind

That is why we have 3 celicas. Red is my whatever car, yellow is kurts monster, and blue is both of ours. So yeah I get annoyed when he can't make up his mind but that's why I'm his voice of reason.( He doesn't like to listen to).... laugh.gif but this is why we love what we do. I keep telling him to leave it all different colors because no one suspects it. And he wants to paint it to be pretty....lol

If you're going to strip it and use it as a track day car there's no point it painting it, I say go harlequin. We don't have a harlequin Celica yet.

There will be updates tonight yay!

95 gt coupe, v6 swap weekend toy99 gt hatch beams swapped wife's94 st hatch my daily driverhttp://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=82235n
Huzzah!

2001 Miata LS 5-speed
so no pics tonight due to lack of light. Got the valve covers, intake an intake tube. More importantly I deleted the Egr. So no more hot exhaust air into my intake. The block off plates were easy to make
An the intake look much cleaner. Should have free up alil power too!!

EGR is good for your car though, it lowers the combustion temperatures and reduces the chance of knock. Under low RPM's and WOT the EGR system is disengaged anyhow. You freed up nothing but space. tongue.gif

2001 Miata LS 5-speed
On the upside you'll never have to worry about carbon deposits in the intake. Right now my EGR is disabled due to the modulator rupturing its membrane. As soon as I find a replacement that doesn't cost a small fortune I'll re-implement the EGR system.

2001 Miata LS 5-speed
Oh well it looks cleaner without it

95 gt coupe, v6 swap weekend toy99 gt hatch beams swapped wife's94 st hatch my daily driverhttp://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=82235n
That's always a plus. Now when EGR systems first came out you were better off without them, but by the time fuel injection was in wide use they had finally figured it out. It shouldn't hurt anything too much, since mine stopped working I really have noticed any conceivable changes performance or efficiency wise.

2001 Miata LS 5-speed
I've always been one if I done need it I don't want it lol

Since I don't have emmisions testing if I can delete the egr an maybe the evap I'm going to lol

95 gt coupe, v6 swap weekend toy99 gt hatch beams swapped wife's94 st hatch my daily driverhttp://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=82235n
If it's not critical to the car running just remove it. tongue.gif

2001 Miata LS 5-speed
That's how I look at it
Want to see how much I an simplify this swap before I start to tackle another one lol

Remove all the interior aside from the driver seat and belt, wheel, and pedals. tongue.gif

Oh and the gear lever and handbrake, still need those. Oh and one door handle, light and wiper stalks, ignition switch, and the rear view mirror. Everything else is useless, just rip it all out. Remove side-view mirrors and the spoiler for reduced weight and drag. Get it down to 2,000 pounds or less for the win. tongue.gif
