I had a problem with mine and had to have the axle trimmed at a machine shop.

i had to do the same thing, had to trim down about 1/8 inch off the tip of the axle so it would go in far enough for the C clip to grab.

i test fit both axles and they seem fine. The shorter one has the snap ring and the longer one, with the bracket fit right in.
Looks great man! I really enjoyed reading your build up and seeing all the pictures. The paint did come out really nice and those wheels look awesome on a red car.

LOOKS FANTASTIC BOBBY! SWAP TIME!!!
thanks dudes!

Ben, I've been waiting for those two, sweet, words. Alex says we can use his work garage. Although that is a ways out there in case we don't get it running right away. I figure we can have two guys buttoning up the 3s while two guys pull the 4a. I can start pulling it the night before if we do it at my house.

I wanted to make an official checklist and get a lot of experienced dudes involved to share some tips to make things easier. Like what you would have done differently. Also, please look at the list and let me know what im missing. God I hope this thing starts!! Its an excitement like no other.
FMIC & Piping:
GT4 Mounts:
E154 Mount:
Wiring done by Ben
GT4 Shifter Cables
E153 Transmission
HYBRID MR2 inners and Camry V6 outers
Spec Stage 3 clutch, 3s flywheel
Flywheel Bolts
Ebay BOV..or stock for now?
255 walbro fuel pump
ProSport Evo Series Wideband and Boost gauge
Well the 4a is down. Crank pulley has seemed to separate from itself it looks like so i will need a new one. kindasad.gif Or option B...Pull the 4a. Only problem is Ben and Sam are going away this weekend. I dont need them to pull the 4a but for the 3s install, it'd be nice.
UPDATE!

Alright the 3s is in the car and on all 4 mounts. Ben did a great job with the wiring harness and we immediately got power to the ecu once every thing was plugged in. However, when we went to turn the key for the first time, we got nothing. Now, if it was just me, that would have been it, I probably would have went to my room and cried until there were no tears left. But it didn't phase Ben what so ever. He got out the voltage meter, went back to the wiring schematic and started retracing his steps and started eliminating possible problems. After a couple of hours, Sam showed up to lend a hand and I knew when those two put their heads together, they'd get it to fire up. Together, they pin pointed the problem (hopefully Ben chimes in and describes in better detail what was going on) and it wasn't until after I left for work did they finally get it to crank. (I WASNT THERE TO HEAR IT!! frown.gif) Ben said it sounded good tho smile.gif. All the while, Alex was working on putting his new motor in. He took the time out to call me and offer some advice on what we could try. I wish he was there but he's doing big things himself.

When i got home from work, it seemed like my father couldn't wait to tell me that A) they got the car to crank and B) Ben took him for a ride in his Car. Being the car guy my dad is, I knew it would be hard to impress him but after seeing the look on his face when he was describing Bens car, I knew he was impressed. Only thing he could compare it to was his friends, 1300cc B-King Motorcycle he rode once.

Ill get some pictures on here hopefully today. We did realize that the ST ac lines wont work. Ill be riding around with no AC for a while. Kinda sucks but at least the engine bay will look cleaner. The intercooler is mounted to the crash bar and hopefully its sitting low enough. I Still need to route the piping and purchase a battery relocation kit.

Cant thank these guys enough, It was pretty unbelievable watching them narrow the problem down. I hope to be half as good as them one day, gots a long way to go.

BEN DONT FORGET TO EXPLAIN TO THESE GUYS IN BETTER DETAIL WHAT WAS GOING ON!!
The wiring break down looks like it's due to a wiring disconnect between the st7.5amp fuse and the black wire on the COR/ st relay. Likely due to this car being on its 3rd engine. I will either have to trace the disconnect or repair it. Ecu has power and half of the COR, but without the second half of the COR operable we have no ignition or fuel. There are a few harnesses disconnected behind the fuse box under the driver side dash. Gonna have to tear it all apart and see whats up!

Side note. Im working on a plug and play harness and code killer connectors with youtube instructions. My price is 300$ for the full set. 5sfe conversion in beta. Need a 7a-3s swap (virgin swap: must be original engine) to do to create a quick connect for the 7a swap!

Here is the video link for Bobby's first day running. We've had to knock out several issues. Bobby can elaborate on these, but all I'll say is:

A: I can replace a timing belt in 20 minutes
B: I hate aftermarket alarms
C: I've gotten really good at wiring

I do believe you have a boost leak ^^ laugh.gif Sounds good though!

Please elaborate on your timing belt change! Do I smell a how to?

Anyways, it's always a heart warming feeling when you turn the key and a rumbling occurs! Good job!

I am jelly. That's a great looking car and a proper engine bay.

I'm actually nervous about making a timing belt how to. I feel like despite the best pictures someone would still **** it up lol!!!
I'm actually debating on whether or not I should make a wiring how to for the ST folks out there.
great job. Another fantastic swap has joined the world
Thanks Guys and Thanks Ben for not only posting and getting this thread up and running again but for all your dedication. Today was seriously one of the happiest days of my life lol (i know pretty pathetic). BEN DOES NOT STOP, dude deserves some kind of medal. Every Sunday i can expect a text message at 8am saying he's on the way. He's dealt with my inexperience, idiotic questions, and not to mention my horrible organization. Thats not to take away from Alex and Sam. Each of them had their own projects but took a HUGE amount of time out of their lives to help me achieve this. They each have a set of skills that they can bounce off each other to figure **** out. Anyway more to come!. Cant wait to drive this beast!

hey guys i need help finding one last part to get this baby on the road. Im missing the washer that goes with the ac/ alternator idler pulley. If anyone has one lying around or knows of where i can get one please let me know! Im ready to be driving!
It's the one that looks like a top hat that fits onto the bearing.
Time for an update there broham
Well didn't want to update till I was driving it daily...Just waiting for parts and working out all the kinks and little things...Without the guys, everything takes me twice as long having to learn it by trial and error...I really was hoping to be driving by now but power steering was giving me trouble...

What's left is installing PS pulley, connect the rest of the vacuum lines and hook up the gauges...the pulleys gnna be a bitch but tomorrow I finally have the day off...
Alright Guys She is up and running like a top! I went to Bens yesterday running no boost and left spinning tires lol. He fixed my boost problem as I connected my synapse wrong. Shes absolutely everything I had in mind and more. After we tightened the couplers down so they'd quite popping off, Its literally hard to go slow! Im only running about 7 psi because Im still breaking in the engine but its a blast for sure. Ill get pictures up soon but I have to head to work.

Man its nice to know all that money, time, and effort paid off. Kinda bittersweet though in some ways.
BAD NEWS UPDATE frown.gif

Well while driving on the highway in heavy rain going about 45mph my transmission **** the bed frown.gif.

I heard a loud drop and pulled over. Drove about a mile to shelter and everything looked good. I figured I had just hit a big bump and i freaked out over nothing, but after another mile it started shaking and eventually locked up.

After towing her home, I put the car up and started it. It sounded like it could have been my axles but after taking them out, the transmission would still make a loud grinding noise when the car is in gear and the clutch let out. The Clutch looks good as well as the pressure plate and flywheel.

I dropped the E153 off at a transmission specialist but I wont know anything until probably thursday, sense tomorrow is a holiday. Man it was driving sooo good, I've been having such a blast! and this happens.

tough break man, trans probs are always a major pita. Comes with the hobby unfortunately. Keep at it
How much fluid drained out of the tranny when you were removing it?
well surprisingly, it didn't look like a lot of fluid came out. However I put like 4 quarts of oil in or however much it called for and I have not seen a single drop of oil leak out.
may have leaked out when the axle popped out the first time. may have dried the transmission up, and locked it up.
Ben might be on to something, How long ago did you pull the axles before this happened?

st205 powered ss3 coupe
about a week but its not like theres oil all over the place it doesn't look like an excessive amount near my axles or anything
Will have to see what the transmission guy says
The transmission will cost close to 2 grand to rebuild so thats a big N O on that one. Been looking for an e153 from a solara or camry and stumbled across one for 330 bucks from LKQ. Its from a 2000 solara v6 with like 150k miles on it. I swear I must be the only one with this bad of luck. It always seems to happen at the worst times too. I really hate buying used parts now.
