Does anyone know if the short shifters found on ebay for the 7th Gen Celica, fits the 6 Gen Celica GT-Four??
What is the difference between a 7th gen, TWM and TRD short shifter?
Apart from them being made by different businesses

Anyone?

the 7th gen and TWM short shifters are just that - short shifters. They lower the top of the shifter and reduce the throw of the shift about 60%, giving you a shorter, more precise shift all together.
info on 7th gen and TWM shifters
the TRD Quick shifter is the entire shifter assembly. It reduces the throw about 40% and the top of the knob isn't as low as the others because it is made to shift quickly and keep your hand closer to the steering wheel for better control.
info and pics of TRD Quick Shifter vs stock shifter
as for fitting a GT-Four, I have read somewhere that they do not fit in RHD Celicas, but I could be wrong. Try asking in forum at celica-club.co.uk

my stock shifter assembly moves a lil i have a 96 ST, and its well...like in the pics, plastic and giving...it makes me want somthin rugged and metal...any suggestions?
though the pic also had the upgraded one plastic also... so is this not a problem for most people?
oh ya, never messed with the assembly, is it easy to install a new one?

Ive bought the short shifter for the celica gen. 7th, but its not good for my GT4, the problem is in the plastic clip that go in the cable of the gearbox, the short shifter for the GT4 are bigger than the 7th gen. ive modded the 7th gen short shifter but i havent tried it yet because my car is still disassemblee, but they seems to be good, i will post some pics later
yea i have the same problem too, mine moves an insane amount... i bought the same one celicagt04 was looking at... it moves ALOT, like its insane to drive cause it feels like neutral all the time, im thinking about tjust rapping the ball in a ****tttload of electrical tape, that might help. ghetto style
**If you play My Brute, joing the 6gc.net clan!**--A section of a kid's actual test that had been scanned--
this is the job that I have done for having a short shifter!!

How does a short shifter work?
Hey, i read somewhere while searching that the 7th. gen ones don't fit very well...and have some problem with the unit moving while shifting? True? I assume this is just due do a bad install since Dustin has compared side by side.

i dunno about everyone else... but mine was really easy to install. and it works great. no doubt one of the best mods i've done to my car and for only about 40 bucks.

This is going to be one of my "mod" can anyone confirm that they shake too much or not?? or is it because of normal wear
just posting to confirm that 7th gen short shifters DO fit on RHD celi's
fitted it yesterday

For those who did this, I'm having a ton of trouble removing the two plastic cups from the old shifter. My short shifter (and most of ebay's) don't come with the 'cup remover'. I've tried it several ways and even pliers, but they're on tight. Helpppp me plz.
Any suggestions?
