Anyone done the Top Gear challenge with the Lotus? I can't even complete the race, I always get knocked off the track by the 1st or 2nd place car when I come around the last corner - if I even get to that point without DQing. I haven't tried turning traction control or anything back on, usually I'm much faster with all the aids turned off.

Also, is there any way to put the convertible top down for a race? I only want to for some photo ops during replays, would think the premium models would have an option to.

How does everyone feel about the B-Spec mode? I used it a lot in GT4, especially for the Endurance races, because I could set it to 3x speed, go to bed, and wake up and have a 1st place 24-hour race win.

Now you have to sit there and micro-manage your driver, who seems to be VERY BAD at driving, and have to sit there the whole time watching/managing. My first B-spec race I put my driver in the Miata I was using, on the first cup series. I had placed 1st on all the races with at least 5 seconds between me and the 2nd place driver, and no matter what I did I couldn't get the damn AI driver to get any better than 4th place.

Same here man. I started out with an MX-5 as well and I was finishing first and I put my B-Spec driver in there and it's like a 5 year old is playing the game. And I hate how you have to sit there and switch settings and everything. And why, oh WHY do the overtake, maintain pace, pace down, pace up have a time period? In GT4, if you wanted overtake, you could keep it on for the whole race! B-Spec mode is gonna take some getting used to...


And Ferdi, it finally installed, the game runs very smooth and fast.

A-Spec mode is AMAZING! Right now I'm using a '98 WRX and I love the way it handles. Now I need to buy a Vitz for that stupid race... lol
I'm checking the used cars like a hawk for the SS-II or the GT-Four.

haha got the SS-II and GT4 and WRC GT4, the blue RE AmemiyaRX7 even has an apexi power fc controller on the dash. About 35% through the game mostly silvers on the licences. Got the Bugatti Veyron to 415km/h (and got 111m per sec trophy ) on the special stage route 7 (or wangan).

would really like to upgrade my brakes

Premiums are the cars sold in the dealerships, they look better than the 'standard' models which are the ones sold in the Used dealers....

I can only get silver on the elise top gear challenge, the thing has the crappiest tyres you can get, it's a bit too hard i had to put traction control and skid recovery on to make it drivable.

Yeah, B-Spec..... i wasn't going to bother with it, but i had a thought....

The endurance series opens up at level 25, and it looks like you might need to get the B-Spec guy up to level 25 too if you want him to take over for you......

I don't really see the point though. In GT4, you could fast forward B-Spec and leave it alone for the whole time. Now you have to screw with it throughout the whole race. I'd rather actually do the racing myself if I have to choose between having fun and constantly monitoring something.

I think I figured out what I'm going to use B-Spec for. I experimented with it this morning and gave my driver a faster car (the FT-86 concept) and did the Sunday cup. He placed 1st in all the races without any input from me. So what I'm going to do is while I'm sitting there doing homework or something and can't directly play, I'll run B-Spec in the background and level up my drivers and earn money.

Does anyone know about B-Spec for higher level races, where you can use more than 1 driver? Say if I'm using 3 drivers, and they come in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, do they all win prize money for me?

im at 3 for bspec now. but yes for longer races you can use more than one driver. not all at the same time though (i believe) they would have to pit and change

I'm really preoccupied with buying different cars for different races, i.e., the truck race, the French only race, etc, that I haven't been able to buy the cars I really want In due time though..
