MY TIME HAS COME.....5SFTE - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #67968 133 posts Started by aznpnoiboi55
Hey guys guess what?......I'M OFFICIAlLy Boosted baby!!... I did pressures setting for my safc to get me started with my tuning...then my friend came over to tweek on the tuning somore..and man it feels great!! I ran to another problem though...I HAD a oil leak from the top somewere by the valve cover next by the oil cap....there was oil skirting out...luckly I found where it was comming from...this mornng I checked the spark plugs to c if oil was comming out of it... Then I noticed that the NUT that was holding down the valve cover was loose...super loose...so I checked all the NUTS and it was all Super Loose!...I knew that it was the reason why the oil was skirting out so I tightened all the nuts and took it out for a spin then I popped my hood to c it oil skirted out...and nothing no oil at all!! So it's all g and took it out for a spin down south for a party and it runs good...well I would like to personally thank presure2,Shannon,jim, all members who helped me and all the 5sfte members for inspiring me to do this project...and mainly I would like to thank 6gc.net for getting me to where I am at if it wasn't for this site then I would get this far!!!thanks
5SFTE!!!
congrats man. enjoy the boost!

OOP! my bad P...i wasnt sure if 5s turbo cars needed that temp to be in the ic piping or in the turbo intake confused.gif so thanks for correcting me.. i was just worry that it would pop out after so much lb of boost just point out things that didnt look right to me thumbsup.gif .
Yah guys soon I'll have pix and I'll even throw in a video...thanks again guys

I don't normally drive fast, but when I do its on a curvy section of this island
Brah Jon you miss out nah just joking. I got a chance to ride in the boosted 6gc earlier this week and it pulls pretty hard. But guarantee with the right tune it can put out alot more then what i've experienced. Oh yeah we had a "small kine" photoshoot after I got off work since Emarc's car being shipped out to the mainland tomorrow, so had to squeeze in some pix before then. I'll post it up in the multimedia section in a bit.

hey guys i got a new problem im dealing with right now.....i have a crack on the top of my radiator!!!.....netra warned me about my radiator going to crack but i didnt expect it soo soon...will i be fine for a while?? does anyone know any good, cheap reliable radiators? need help guys
You could go for a koyo radiator. Though, it is thicker and makes the room between the turbo and fan shroud even tighter. However, with a little trimming of the fan shroud it can be made to fit. Plus it costs about the same as a new stock radiator. You could also take it to a radiator shop and they might be able to weld the crack shut. Whatever you do, don't use that "radiator stop leak" stuff from the auto parts store. it just clogs up your cooling system.

In the meantime, just keep the fluid topped off and try not to drive long distances. The crack will only get worse with time so try to fix it ASAP.

So everyone talks about if your going to turbo your car do as much research as possible. Where can I read all this stuff so i could learn to turbo my celica? I mean, right now I don't exactly have the money but i would love to do it one day, so I thought i may as well start learning about it now. So now the question is, where do I start?

IIRC when I bought an stock replacement radiator it was around $250 at kragen... I'm pretty sure one from toyota is even more expensive than a koyo. So, it's not too unreasonably priced.

ok guys time for more updating.......i finaly got my new koyo radiator in with help of a good friend of mines.....thanks jesse......and he also helped me up my boost!!....ok first of all my stock boost was 5.8 psi and i tried to turn up the boost before but couldnt get the boost up...... with 2 full turns i took it out for a spin......and nothing....i was boosting the same....5.8 psi......so my friend told me that 1-2 full turns dont mean 1-2psi more, you might have to turn it 5 full times to get only 1 psi it depends on your boost controller....so he turn it a couple times more and we took it out for a spin.......WOW he was right....i was boosting 8psi.....then he turn it a few more times and now i am at my record of 10psi guys.....thats a lot for me...lol.....but now i got to invest in a new clutch because i noticed that its slipping when ever i shift going fast....
can anyone recomend what would be the best clutch for me??

A lot of people have had problems with SPEC stage 2 clutches, but I have had my spec stage 2 in for almost 15K now, with at least 6-7K of them with the turbo on, and it's still going strong. ACT makes good stuff too, I think that's what presure2 is using. try to get one that still uses a disc, not a 6-puck or 4-puck, but one that can handle the amount of torque your putting down.

It's a lot harder to drive. not good for daily driving. Plus it's overkill for your current power levels

ok i got you....makes sense because i dont want to have hard time pressing the clutch just to change gears and i know it would suck to run into bumper to bumper traffic.....
yah i seen some on ebay but a lot of then are 4-6 puck....
.....on ACT its like 400+.......is there a cheaper one?

IIRC I got my Spec for ~$300. You might want to go for the stage 2+ if you go (it's inbetween the stage 2 and 3) since a lot of people have reported problems with the stage 2's. But I think they revised the stage 2's, because I've never had problems with mine.
