did you reset the ecu at all?? like dan said, "safe" mode or "limp" mode or whatever??
Im puttin on another ground wire on the pass side them im gonna try an reset the esc.
An maybe try an limp her to autozone( about a mile away) an have them try the obd2 port

So i reset the ecu an that did nothing
It seems to backfire anytime i give it gas now but the back fire isnt as bad or as loud as it was to start with

I read on a lexus forum that the ecu has to lern your driving style
But i dought thats my probem

The ECU runs off of a base map and adjust certains small things based on your driving style, but it should never bog or backfire either on the base map or learned map. My old BEAMS ECU was messed up and caused bogging under load in higher gears and once it started, it would even do it at idle in neutral. Your ECU could very well be the problem. Is it an AT or MT ECU? It shouldn't cause much if an issue but perhaps your ECU is staying in limp mode because it can't find the signals from the auto trans.

Es300 only came in auto
Mr220v grounded out the a/t signal like he does on a 97
So he thinks if i swap ecus it might fix the problem
Only down side i have to move a pin on the ecu an repin the maf
And I HATE WIRING so thats gonna suck

Well it seems to run better befor it warms up
But i think the a/t signal is the problem with the power but not the back firing
So im lost

Before its warmed up, the ECU runs in what's called open loop- that's a safe base map, where the motor can safely run with no sensor input. After the car warms up, it switches to closed loop starts relying on those sensors to determine the conditions that the motor is in. If your car is running fine before it warms up, that's indicative of a sensor issue. How many O2 sensors does your car have per bank? If its 2 sensors per bank, one before and one after the cat, it's possible that an O2 sensor is messed up or they are switched, causing your ECU to trim fuel improperly.

Just a theory.

Got all of your injectors plugged in?

Ill check the injectors in a couple

It has 2 o2 as of right now one on each manifold but there is a plug for one after the cat too so i think im going to have my buddy put anothet bung hole in for that sensor an see what happens

Im still thinkin im having problems with that a/t signal
Just want to get one thing foxed at a time

Well, at least you know what the culprit is now. Get new ECU and cruise around town. biggrin.gif

2001 Miata LS 5-speed
Im still not 100% that the whole problem but itll help lol

Indeed, hopefully smooth sailing after having the right ECU. If not, go out and punch stuff. tongue.gif

2001 Miata LS 5-speed
Already punched a few things today lol but ill get it all figured out soon enough
Im hoping the o2 sensor helps some. It seems like its just running rich an revving kinda slow

This swap has definitely tought me you cant rush things

Indeed. Especially being one of the few pioneers to do such. Just think, it'll all be worth it once all done. biggrin.gif

I know
It already gets looks lol i drove it up to the parts store an they basically shut down the store to look at it
Ill try an post a vid tomorrow of how she sounds

Awesome, look forward to it. biggrin.gif

What is the ECU part number that you need? I'm not using my 1MZ ECU, if it uses the same.

Mine is the 94 ECU. I doubt it'll work. Mine runs 6 COP, yours runs wasted spark
