I'm surprised your car runs with the cam sensor code. I know the BEAMS won't even try to turn over with the cam or crank sensors unplugged. I'm guessing the cam sensor is what's holding it back, not the trans. If it was a trans code throwing the ECU into limp mode, I've heard the motor will not rev over 3k in order to prevent anything from getting damaged.

Usually the cam sensor is for the fuel injection system and the crankshaft position sensor is specifically for the ignition timing. The car cant run without knowing exactly when to fire the spark plugs but it can guess at injectors and be close enough to still run
Yep im guessing your right cuz she wont start if the crank sensor isnt pluged in

^^^ yeah the ECU need crank position to fire the coils. Especially since the 1MZ uses wasted spark. notice that there are only 3 coils and 3 wires that go to the back plugs. the coils are actually firing twice, one fire is to ignite cylinder 1 then the next fire cylinder 2 while cylinder 1 is on the exhaust stroke. its wasted

Well the cam code is now gone
I repinned it. Thanks to mr220v
next will be the trans codes an the egr code

EGR valves love carb cleaner, make sure to get the pipe running to the exhaust too. If its vacuum operated like our stock engines you can hook a hand powered vacuum pump to the diaphram hose on the top and with the engine idling try to pull a vacuum. If you can pull a vacuum and the car trys to stall out and die your EGR valve is working fine. The parts store usually rents out a vacuum pump and they should let you use it in the parking lot for a few minutes if they are worth a darn.
Sorry for not reading the whole thread but if it is OBDII then you should be able to find a parts store with a high enough quality diagnostic scanner to pull transmission codes(ABS and SRS codes too if your lucky)
Well i talked to mr220v an hes said the trans codes are not the problem so were talking over what othwr problems i may be having

Starting to hate this car lol
She seems to be running fine but i have no power an seem like she revs kinda slow( compated to 5s)

Must be something that doesn't throw codes. Idle air control valve maybe? That or throttle position sensor, or mass air flow sensor. Would check all of that if you haven't already. Can't really think of anything else at the moment.

Mr220v is thinking i need to repin the maf

Fuel pressure, both at idle and while running, ignition timing.
What color are the spark plugs coming out?
Is compression strong?
The compression was good when it was check.
Ill have to pull a plug an see how they look
Im 99% sure im running rich tho

The O2 sensor should keep the air to fuel ratio fine, if they look a little dark you might try a hotter spark plug. You can also gap them a little bit more open, it will always increase power when you open the gap until you reach the point that the ignition system cant handle it. I bet you could get away with 5 thousandths more and not have any worries.
Be sure to give the ECU a few days of driving to readjust itself. You should reset it after changing anything on the engine and give it a chance to relearn the way the engine is operating.
Where's the damn automotive fairy when you need her?

ECU number is 89661-06331

EGR all hooked up? Or blocked off?

Post up some clear pictures of your vac set up.

Trans codes you won't ever get to clear, unless you wanted to put some elaborate sensor in it's place. MR220V and I briefly discussed piggybacking off of the cam position sensor to give a pulse to the ECU for the transmission, but I went another path (Obviously).

I know on the 97+ Camry 1MZ's you can ground a pin on the ECU to put it into M/T mode. I don't know if the 97+ ES300 ECU is different. Shouldn't be, but I've seen weirder things...

^^^ the Solaras are supposed to do the same thing. ground a pin putting it in manual mode.

Or you could just chuck a junk tranny in the backseat and wire it up, that would solve your issues too tongue.gif

on second thought a tranny in the backseat doesnt sound pleasant LMAO
Yeah, that might get him in trouble with the wifey and law. tongue.gif But there has to be someway to get the ECU into manual mode, since some later 90's Camry/Solara have the V6 and manual from the factory. Unless they just used a different ECU, but I'd doubt that.

If there isnt then surely someone makes a chip you can plug in in place of the trans to simulate it.
Maybe we could design one and sell it.
What I've always seen done is using resistors in place of the transmission to fool the ECU. The trick is using the right resistors. But why bother when you can simply ground one pin on the ECU?

Theres a plug i have to ground out a wire in to fix the auto trans

An the early 90s do use a different ecu because its a different motor lol

Kinda wishing i would have went with a 3vz there alot more simpler swap lol

Well i grounded out the plug an that didnt change anything
i picked up the new maf sensor today an waiting for mr220v to sent me the repin info so everyone keep your fingers crossed this works cuz were running out of ideas

Oh an 95celicast ill post those pics tonight of the vac system
Bern super busy today
